i have some nickel already but thanks for the tip, any idea what voltage i should have it at to fuse? i was using 60v with the nickel non rez and kanthal. im guessing silver will need alot of voltage and im worried the ribbon maymelt away.

Don't know the device or contact points. But silver may be your melting trouble, not kanthal.
