So I thought I had decided on the Riva 510 tank then started looking at the KGO's.

Liberty Flights has a Riva 510 tank for a reasonable price and was thinking of getting that but also buying cartos, regular atties, and carts so that I could try all three options. (I don't have to use a tank attie if I use a carto, right?)

Shouldn't the carto's still work and fit on a Riva 510 Tank?

Do you think that getting the Riva 510 Tank and trying all three of those options is a good idea for a newbie or should I just stick with getting a KGO? I was looking at the KGO at Northwest Vapors and Virgin Vapors.

Isn't the KGO similar to the Riva?

Do you think tanking is more expensive than using regular atties & carts & cartos?

And what in the world is dripping??

I know I've asked a million questions in the past two days, so sorry about. I finally have the vaping lingo down and seem finally understand what is what but need to be sure I buy the right thing.

Yes the Riva is the same as the Kgo. If money is an issue you may want to look at the E-Power. Kgo/ Riva extra batts cost $15+ while E-Power batts are $5 cuz they are separate from the PV unit. All these PVs are true 3.7 volts and batts are approx 1050 mah. 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping. Dripping is where you drip a few drops on to a heated element and vape. If you want after you buy your PV you can always add a tanl or clearomizer.

No. Just don't use a "punched" cartomiser meant for a tank and any 510 cartomiser will work.

Yes, the battery is the same on a riva and a riva tank. They will take any 510 connection.

A KGO is the same as a riva. Identical if I'm not mistaken so buy one or the other but all parts will be interchangeable.

Do you think tanking is more expensive than using regular atties & carts & cartos?
For atomiser tanks, yes, they are very expensive and not worth buying as they barely work compared to superior heating devices (atomisers, cartomisers, clearomisers etc).

For cartomiser tanks, no, they are more cost effective as the cartomiser will be constantly wet and should have a longer lifespan as a result but I don't think you mean these ones.

And what in the world is dripping??
It's when you take something like an atomiser and simply drip liquid straight onto the heating coil rather than use the wadding in the mouthpiece to feed liquid to it.

Hope that helps :)

Take a look at the specs for the Riva and Kgo. I may be wrong, but IIRC, the Riva is a 3.4 volt battery. The kGo is a 3.7V battery, which makes a significant difference in use. Also, the kGo may have a larger capacity, 1100mah vs 650mah.

I'm not 100% sure about some of that, but the point is, verify the voltage and the capacity when you choose. Other than those two things, they are pretty much the same and they accept the same cartomizers, etc.

Well since I'm an ...., organized OCD type person I made a spreadsheet comparing prices of starter kits for the KGO and Riva 510 T from the three vendors I was looking at. It looks like my best value is going to be to buy the Riva and buy extra stuff like regular atties, carts, cartos, etc. This option gives me the Riva 510 Tank starter kit, and the otption of trying three systems (tank, carto, cart/attie) for the just about $100 to get me started. I still have to order juice so I haven't figured that cost in.
Do you guys think that this is enough to get me started if I smoke about 1 pk / day:

Riva 510 T Starter Kit
2 5pks Boge LR 2.0 Cartos
3 5pk Carts
2 5pk of Carts for Tank (on top of the 5 that come with the starter kit)
1 Regular Atomizer
1 extra tank atomizer (on top of the 2 that come with the starter kit)
1 Drip Tip (just so I can give it a try at some point)
1 Case

How many juices do you recommend for a 1 pk a day smoker to last about 2 weeks?

Any recommendations from Liberty Flights (the have a great 20% coupon code right now) juice flavors, especially something similar to Marlboro lights. I'm thinking the 18 mg strength in PG.
