Riva 510 vs joye 510 accessories

I really want to find some accessories for my Riva 510. I want to be able to carry my Riva without draining the battery life by accidently hitting the button. I see all over the place different things for the joye (ego) 510 and don't know if they are compatible.

there is this really cool looking thing that covers the button and just slides up and down the battery. will this fit/work on my Riva 510? or is there something else out there that would work?

We are getting ready to go to Disney and want to have easy access to my Riva.
PLEASE help!!!!

Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarettes | E Cig and E Cig Liquid | Totally Wicked E Cigs, I've ordered from them and they have a "Yo-Yo" sale going on (its pretty interesting and you could get some awesome discounts and the shipping is super fast, being from so. cali and they're from fl.) and they have that protection button cover thing. Look under the "Tornado" tab

If I'm not mistaken, the Riva 510 and Ego are pretty much the same

I use the button protector on all my egos, but mostly because it keeps them from rolling off the table. If you get the new ego-t, it has a 5 click power off button. Mostly I just twist the atty/carto a good full turn. If nothings touching, it doesn't matter if the button is pushed.

I found it easier than lining up the button protector properly. The button protector moves easilly and can fire off your batt by itself.

I'm very happy with my Riva and don't want to switch. It seems like there is a difference in the battery diameter. Which is why I want to make sure i get the right size and not waste any more money. lol This can get to be an expensive habit when you start to by everything on the market that doesn't quite work for you or your fave product.

My button protectors fit the same on Riva-Joye ego-ego-t.................They all seem to be the same size.

Riva Batts may have changed since I bought the last couple, but from memory the Riva soft button protrudes further out from the battery than the eGo hard button.

I tried the eGo button protectors on my Riva batts but found that they hold the button ON rather than off. They work fine on an eGo but check on the Riva.

Other than that, as tj said, just give the atty/catro an anti-clockwise twist so there is no connection between atty & battery..

I don't use the button protector, I have no real reason to. But they seem to work fine with the Riva batteries I have.

I have two batteries sitting here on my desk right now and the ego battery protrudes more than the soft button on the Riva battery. The Riva battery is about 6 months old. I don't know if they've changed more recently than that.

I don't know how great they work, I've never used them. But just snapping one on right now, they seem to work OK.

I got this for someone who was going in the hospital. It works "OK" I can't really tell when the battery is charged.

    Joye ego PCC

If you get it, try it out before you go away. It only has a 14 day warranty.

That looks like a nice accessory for an eGo.

The button protector is harder to use on the Riva. The Ego's metal band containing the button is recessed a bit lower than the body of the battery. So that creates a groove that the button protector fits in - it does not slide up or down on an Ego but down on a Riva. I found the protector difficult to position on Riva (I was using the simple ring-like protector that doesn't require a cone - there is another with a piece that sticks up against the cone). My attempts with the protector often ended up in the protector pressing the button. I don't use a cone so I couldn't try the other kind. If you use a cone then look around for both kinds and try them - maybe you will have more luck than me.

Since I usually just carry the charged 750mh (may be 650mah) Riva battery as a backup, I bought a Chinese cloth covered lipstick case/box from Ebay and I cut thick craft foam into a liner that was the full length of the box on the bottom but only came up to below the button on the side flaps of the liner. I wrap the longer side flap around the battery front and tuck it down the other side - it clears the button and the button can't reach anything, and it holds the battery tightly so it doesn't turn.

    Shape of the liner: xxlllxxxx

You may want to consider the new Riva 510 SE black kits at Liberty-Flights.com which add the 3-click disable
    Riva 510 - Special Edition
Black Riva SE Batteries now include the NEW 3-click ON/OFF feature (like the eGo-T)!
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
Or the single SE batteries w/ 3-click disable
    Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - Riva 510

If you have some time until this trip you could consider getting a 3.7v plastic box mod to use when out - they have an on/off switch. I got mine from the vendors in Buying & Selling.. Modders & Accessories - you could see who can deliver you one the fastest. And Super-T Manufacturing's website should be able to deliver you some protected or AW IMR 14500 batteries and a suitable charger. Ebay search 4AA plastic case to find little cases that will hold 14500 batteries. My plastic box mods cost about $20 each, the batteries are about $5 each, AC charger $8-15.

I wish somebody would make a 510 to 510 short extender with an on/off switch. Then you could add an on/off switch to any 510 device.

Very true Ms Mouse. There is a definite ridge on the joye battery that's not on the Riva battery.

Well, I just put the cone on my Joye eGo, and voila, my cheap "C" shaped button protector works great. Learn something new everyday, well every so often, maybe. It was pretty useless on my Riva.

I still have yet to try the one from my link up there^^^ from Madvapes, but it looks good. But it's only for the Joye. Do those other protectors with this shape __lll__ work w/ the Riva?
