Riva 510 SE First Charge

So my Riva is due to arrive some time tomorrow...I am the type of person who can't put something I just bought down, let alone wait for it to charge! Do I need to follow the directions of charging it for 8+ hours each batt for the first time, or can I use it out of the box? Will using it righ away ruin the charge life of the batt? I am very anxious to rip the mail open and play with it, but if I have to charge it for a long time I'm going to sit there staring at it in anticipation like my dog is with her chew toys.

no need to wait 8 hours. the batteries have no memory. charge one and start vapin on the other

If your kit comes with 2 batteries, both should have at least a partial charge. Put one on charge and play with the other. When the charger indicates complete, go ahead and use it, it is fully charged. no need to wait 8 hrs. I beleive the 8hr recommendation is more for old battery tech, like NiCd. Current batteries do not have "memory" issues like the old ones. You can even recharge before it goes dead, without hurting the life or capacity of the battery.

Wow! Learn something new everyday! No memory huh? Guess that means I don't have to use my 510's until the light no longer goes on, long after the vapor production vastly diminishes and just charge them =)

Now I won't have to pace back and forth, twiddling my thumbs tomorrow as the batteries charge! Yes I have some weird complex that makes me NEED to use the things I just bought haha

I can sooooo relate to that one. Got a new handgun for christmas, purchased christmas eve. We have a "normally" good system here in Al.....go, fill out paperwork, gunshop makes a call, take home your new "toy". Not for me.......phones or something messed up for the background check so couldn't pick it up until the next Wednesday. The wait was killing me. Then finally got it and had to work dawn to dark the next three days so still couldn't try it out. AGONY!

Wish I could! My friend will be staying at my house from morning until I get home...I seriously typed out instructions for him so he can set it up for me lol Work all day

JUST GOT MY RIVA SE IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!

I am using one and charging the other like you all recommended...and i am in LOVE.

The only downside is I need to get back on the LF website and order a stainless steel kit as well =)
