I had been using standard sized KR808D batteries and recently bought the Riva 901 kit.
I'm using the Riva's with an adapter from Good Prophets and the same KR808D CE2 cartomizers I had.
The fat battery hands down lasts much, much longer without recharging, but in a side by side comparison, I'd swear I'm getting more vapor from the smaller batteries.
I've also noticed that the draw is much tighter on the fat battery, you have to hit much slower and longer on it.
I'm ready to go back to the KR808D batteries. I'll put up with the inconvenience of charging them more often to have the easier draw and better vapor production.
I'm curios to see if anyone else has been down this same path? Thanks!

Also, I dunno much about Rivas.

I do have some eGo batteries with 510 threads (3.2v to 3.4v under load)...and they're not quite as hot as KR808D-1 batteries (true 3.7v on a fresh charge...some even more like 4v at first).

Next time you get a fresh supply of CE2...you might get the 2.4ohm ones instead. Might have to go with 510 threads to get those lower resistance ones...but it'll give you warmer vape.

The 808 vs 510 draw is a little more airy in compairison.....if that's the right word plus the adapter will also effect the draw. The Rivas voltage output is somewhere around 3.4v and the 808 battery is 3.7v but the mAh rating is much higher on the Riva due to it's size.

You could try loosening the adapter a little but what you're describing seems normal with the equipment you're using.

If you can get the draw to you liking by adjusting the adapter a little you could go to the 2.4-2.6 ohm rating in the CE2 which should help compensate for the difference in voltage.

This message is spot on with your issue. Standard KR808 cartos have a fairly high resistance, in the 3.0+, which on a standard Riva 901 kicks out approx 3.85 watts. That same carto on a KR808 fully charged at 3.7V will produce 4.56 watts which is nearly 15% more power.

If you had one of the elusive Riva SE models, they generally run at 3.7V, which is the same voltage as the KR808 batteries.

The earlier suggestions about lower resistance cartos/attys on your Riva are the solution for a similar vaping experience with your Riva 901 compared to your KR808.

The link above is to a pretty good listing of the available power ratings for various PV hardware. Depending on the voltage your device, and the type of carto or atty you are using, you can easily see how much power you are producing.

I just ordered a 5 pack of 2.5 ohm KR808 cartomizers from Liberty Flights and I can't wait to try them on the Riva 901.
Question. Would these 2.5 ohm cartomizers harm my standard KR808 batteries? Just in case I thought I'd ask, I don't want to damage them by doing something dumb... Thanks!

Referring to the chart I posted earlier, a regular KR808 carto running on a 5V regulated passthru puts out approx 8.33watts of power. The 2.5 cartos at 3.7V would run around 5.48 watts, so you will be just fine.

In theory you could even go down the 2.0ohms (6.85watts) and still be just fine. Both the 2.5 and 2.0 will give you a little more 'kick' on the KR808 (again I'm assuming the Riva 901 is still clocked around 3.4V), you may want to get somebody in the LF forum to confirm that for you). If the Riva 901 you have is a true 3.7V device like the Riva 510 SEs and some of the more recent Riva 501s, then they should all be the same!

But you def won't be damaging anything, not with those power levels.
