love this attie, it gives me a big dripper option that isn't so huge it no longer suits me

BUT the AFC drives me bonkers, it constantly comes loose. This is made even worse by my bad habit of fidgeting in my pockets.

I'm just wondering if there is a safe adhesive to secure it in place. I use the two big holes and that isn't about to change, so I just want the three top caps stuck in place, but being an attie where the vapourisation happens, I don't want to just throw some epoxy at it without knowing I'm not going to gas myself

Cheers

I would find an O ring big enough to sit on top of the AFC then screw down the top to snug it up. Or take it to a machine shop and have them drill and tap a stainless set screw thru the AFC to the body. That might cost $10.

You still want to take it apart to clean the juice out under the afc ring so you would not want it staked down or glued in anyway permanent.

This sounds like the best option to me, but, in the meantime, you could wrap some thread around the base where the ring sits, then place the ring on/over the thread, maybe?

I don't have that problem with my Atomic, once set and tightened the AFC doesn't move unless I loosen the top cap, ever. So I have to ask... has it always been an issue or one that started after a lot of use/wearing in?

Same here with my RM4. Once the top cap is tightened, the AFC ring is locked in position and doesn't move. Sounds to me, as if the cap wasn't tightened enough or the AFC ring has been widened.

Is it just me or are the post screws extremely close to each other? Sorry for the different question but you all are talking about the rm4 already and I've been thinking about picking it up

Simple solution (I've got lots of these, some do it some don't...) take off the ring, wrap some tape around it so it doesn't get damaged and either put it in a vice or with a big enough pair of pliers give it a slight squeeze...just enough to put it slightly off-round...it won't spin as easy...awesome RDA otherwise.

So, come the collapse of society as we know it, you're available, right?
