Look to the south, that's me waving at you from a mountain top in the great state of Colorado. While I often see bears sitting under the trees happily
vaping away, (even they know that analogs cause forest fires), coyotes sneaking around with a pinch between their cheek and gum and the occasional big horn sheep enjoying a mouthful of Red Man I only know of one other regular vaper up here in God's country and needless to say there are no brick and mortar e-cig stores in our little part of the planet.
I know of one small shop down in Lakewood, a suburb of Denver that is only open half a day, three days a week but when he is open the store is always packed with people. He pretty much caters to newbs who get their feet wet with clone equipment and Dekang juices and then presumably discover better quality mods and juices online.
I travel down into Denver 3 nights a week to go dancing at a very large and busy country bar. Before I switched to
vaping I would generally smoke a full pack which entailed having to go outside on the rear deck since Colorado law prohibits smoking in a public building, (restaurants, bars, casinos, etc.).
Fortunately I'm very good friends with the owner/manager of the club and when I first made the switch I showed him my PV, explained the principal behind the technology, demonstrated that it emitted no 'smoke' or offensive odors and other than a small percentage of liquid nicotine contained no tobacco products. After all that I still advised him that the club was his private property and although by the letter of the law I wasn't 'smoking' I would still brave the elements and join the rest of the smokers on the rear deck and vape away out there.
He thought for just a moment or two then explained all the laws he had to comply with just to be able to sell someone a drink and how he had to keep the restaurant facilities available the entire night even if there were no food customers. His several minute rant finally concluded with an emphatic statement that
vaping was/is not smoking, it's not an illegal substance and that unless I chose to retire to the deck for another reason I should stay inside and vape to my heart's content.
This was several months ago and in the interim there have been 2 or 3 people who have complained to him that they were offended by the 'smoke'. (I keep my vaping to a bare minimum and never when people are in close proximity except for the frequent occasions when ladies come over and ask me to blow Chocolate Fudge Brownie vapor their way.
An e-cig in that type of environment elicits lots of questions and comments, almost universally positive, and each week and additional one or two vapors can be seen in the club.
