rope/cable/wire/wick cutters

Hey guys,
What cutters would you recommend for a clean on 7x19 SS cables/rope?
And for kanthals? Silica wick? Ecowool?

Also, what size tweezers/other equipment is efficient when it comes to building a coil? I saw videos where someone was using dental picks as well.

Lmk guys, I don't feel like spending a fortune... haha

what did you mean by that? can you provide a link?

For wire I would use a cutoff wheel on a Dremel, but then I have a Dremel (G). Perhaps a pair of wire cutters? . Rest of the wicks I use a good pair of small scissors..

the wire cutters are too expensive... unless do you of a inexpensive cable cutter that can do the job?

for cable, a dremel with a cutoff wheel works quite well, diagonals (dikes) crush the cable and requires "reforming" the cable ( twisting it back into shape) to make the ends look nice instead of a mop

If you want a cheap Dremel alternative. Check out the great neck rotary tool. Got mine at autozone for 20 bucks and all Dremel accessories have been compatible for me.

No dental picks here. I use pointed end eyebrow tweezers for pulling cotton through a coil. I cut kanthal will nail trimmers. I torch kanthal with a bic and pulsing. I cut ends off cotton wicks with a pair of precision scissors I found in the scrap booking section at Target. Precision wasn't what I was looking for. I was looking for "small". Super sharp, they are!

I have no experience with cable, but from what I hear.... a dremel
