Hang in there Evie! What flavors are you vaping and what nicotine levels? Maybe we can all suggest a really good hefty tobacco/pipe/cigar flavor and nic levels/WTA for those tougher than normal days.

I am around a lot of smokers all day. I am not going back to smoking today, but it sure has smelled good today. I see others smoking in their cars, and I think they are lucky they haven't made the decision to quit. I know that is crazy, but I am missing it today.

Hang in there! I have not quit smoking yet but I can tell you that nasty old burnt tarry stick is looking less and less attractive after every vape.

Vaping just TASTES better. Try to focus on how good it tastes compared to cigs.
before you quit when was the last time you could taste it enough to care about flavor? I dont think I have tasted more than ash and tar for over 10 years or more. Hardly an endorsement for a great way to waste money!

Hey Evie - you can do this! It does get easier, I promise...I can remember feeling just like you do now. But one day you will smell it and go - EWWWW yuk! Its all a part of the process just like withdrawals - which at two months you should just about have those beat. Sending positive thoughts to the southeast just for you.... :) Congrats on two months - that is a HUGE accomplishment!

So sorry to hear about the "rough patch". We go through it and it DOES get easier.

Sometimes (after you've been smoke free for a while ... doesn't matter how long.. only takes a few weeks/months) you can play the "who smokes and who doesn't" game.

Like... walking though the grocery store. You can smell em. Some a lot, some a little. When they walk by. Easier in the winter or rainy days (if they've smoked in their car on the way... with windows mostly up).

Remember... the stinkies are NOT good for you! After a while, it won't smell so good anymore. Hang in there. :)

I am using mostly 6, but tomorrow will be two months, so that should be plenty.

Increase your nic level overall a bit or get a higher nic level for days like this. You may be trying to get to low nic too fast for your own good.

People who haven't made the decision to quit shouldn't affect your decision to quit. They damage themselves further with each drag from that cancer stick.

You have made a start in a healthier direction ;)

I have been vaping for more than a year now and sometimes analogs smell good, but most of the time they do not. What gets me is how nice looking cigarette packs look on the store shelves (especially overseas). Nice and shiny, looks like candy..

Hang in there. Cravings for analogs will just keep getting further apart.

Its not crazy at all to want to still smoke. There are MANY here that even after giving up smoking quite a while ago still wish to have a cigarette once in a while. Many of us LIKED smoking and gave it up hoping to avoid major health problems down the road, NOT because we really didnt want to smoke anymore ;)

Do what ever it takes for YOU to not give in to the urge to have a cig. 6 mg is pretty low for someone that has only been vaping a relatively short period of time. If you're ok with that, wonderful, BUT dont be afraid to have some higher mg juice once in a while If it helps keep the urge to smoke away. Back when I still required nic but was working my way down to zero nic I pulled out my higher then I was was normally using nic every once in a while and used it for a few minutes and it was a great help to get past that urge to light a cig and when that urge was gone I went back to my lower level.

Good Luck :)

Definitely hang in there!

After 6+ months of vaping now I have zero cravings for a cigarette! I have lots of cravings for my Provari+DID though lol.

I used to love the smell of someone smoking a cigarette, loved that smell, now I can't stand it. It reeks bad, now I know why some people really don't like the smell of smokers, and the stale smoke smell they carry around for hours after smoking.

I'm almost there. Much further along than I've ever been with vaping. I can go all day without a smoke, easily, but the minute I'm around someone I know who smokes, my mind starts figuring out reasons to bum one. "It's just one cigarette, it can't hurt." Total junkie status. And then I DO bum the smoke, light it up in anticipation, and it tastes like total and utter ... and I immediately regret the decision. Still, to go an entire day and light up maybe one or two cigarettes is a miracle for me. And the days I go all day without a cigarette, it is such a liberating, amazing feeling, and every day I do that just makes me feel optimistic that maybe one day I can be free of nicotine altogether.

Got off on a tangent, there. I wanted to comment on smelling smokers. It's embarrassing to think I used to walk around smelling like that. I was at the grocery store the other day, and this dude walked by and I literally choked on the smell. It was so bad, so in my face, I literally turned around in astonishment. I could not believe how bad it smelled. I hereby apologize to anybody and everybody who I've ever made gag because of my stupid, stupid addiction.

The mental state that you have about vaping and quitting is important. I continued to smoke for a while after beginning to vape (went from 50 a day to about 6 or 8 the first week). That allowed me to convince myself that vaping tasted better and was satisfying. I proved the satisfying part by vaping a little harder on my 24mg juice when I thought I needed a cig. The craving would go away.

One day, I just decided that smoking and vaping was silly. I had already compared and decided I wanted to keep vaping. I woke up one morning and decided I was through with cigs. That gave me a mental state that assured me I was done with tobacco. Past that point, I have been able to sit next to someone who was smoking, enjoy the aroma sometimes, but not want a cig. It's like magic when you wrap your head around quitting and embrace the fact that you are through.

Staying off the cigs is good. Vape heavier when you have a craving, but don't kick yourself if you give in and smoke one. Keep it at a low consumption rate and compare the two for a while. One day you will be able to quit with assurance.

You might, as someone has already said, be vaping at too low in nic. Most people who need more vape 24mg juice. Some start out at 36mg and taper down to 24mg and continue downward. Find the juice you like with a nic level that takes away the cravings and you are set.

I actually dug through my juices and found a 16mg to vape. I went hard at it until I went to bed. I was coughing from so much vaping! I got past it without smoking. This morning, I woke up happy I had made it without giving in. Living with a smoker, that smokes what I like, I know I can sneak one. However, I will know what I have done.
