Right behind you...
Dude, seriously, drop the nic down to human-tolerable levels. I suspected you might be hitting 18mg, but 26mg is just crazy and the source of all your discomfort.

A few years ago, you might have needed to run that much death extract just to get any addiction relief out of the clearomizer technology of the day, but these days, well, it's just crazy.

And I have to ask, do you have any taste buds? Are you maybe also getting burnt hits due to a worn-out wick, exacerbated at higher watts? That'd do a number on your throat as well. You do know you have to change coil heads on a regular basis, right?

If it sounds like I'm being patronizing, it's because, well, I am. Anyone who vapes 26mg to the point it causes extreme discomfort and then blames the power level of their mod is going to be in for a little of that.

What's the function of the foot-long mouthpiece?

BTW ... Did cigarettes bother your throat this much before?

I change the nic, since my throat is so burned, I keep the number of hits to a minimum, so I raise the nic. While "testing" new hardware I use 6 mg.

What new hardware, you mean a newer ( mod ) battery ? could it be that your old mod's battery is tired and the new 18650's fully charged are better ( stronger ) cause your tank is going on 3 years old........

I checked it with my Fluke meter and the istick is firing at 3 volts.

3 volt, 1.5 ohm coil may calculate to 6 watts, but the IPV mini is noticeably hotter than the istick, swapping the same addy/build.

New, not in the least, I found a combination that works for me, just need a battery swappable box mod. I have burned my mouth and throat enough already.

BTW the XS mini and ZNA 50 are both only wattage adjustable.

I'll just modify my istick so I can swap batteries.

I'm really surprised you like the Istick at low voltage. The Istick's PWM will change peak-peak depending on the battery level, resulting in different output levels, depending on if the battery is fully charged or below 2/3 full.

So in your case:

3v x 5.8 / 1.5 = 11.6 watts rms with a full battery

3v x 4.8 / 1.5 = 9.6 watts rms with battery level below 2/3

Try your IPV in PWM mode set at 9.5 watts and see what happens.

The DNA40 looks to be $65, the enclosure $50 plus shipping, then there is the other needed hardware and my time, which I don't consider free. It's probably pushing $200. I do like the SXMini, except for the price tag.

You can get a DNA40 at Hyperion vape for $60 (DNA40 by Evolv Authorized Dealer – Hyperion Vape) and one of these for $19 (https://www.fasttech.com/products/3023/10011134/1785702). Makes a nice Hana style mod especially if you change out the 510 to one of these FD V3 for $6.

It went from this : I'm a fan of the istick, but disappointed that I can't swap the battery. I got the IPV mini, but I can't lower the adjustment enough. I'm looking for a box mod with a rounded back like the above two. Specs I would like is takes a 18650 battery and I can adjust voltage down to 3 volts and of course a rounded shape. I've tried the Vamo, this is not comfortable to hold. Anyone know if they make what I'm looking for? To this : I checked it with my Fluke meter and the istick is firing at 3 volts.

Your thinkin solder a battery tray in the istick and that chip will work great with an 18650 and fire lower volts than the IPV ?

Read your instructions.
Put the IPV in PWM

Sorry, just back peddled and read up. Didn't realize you like to voice out but not take advice.
You cannot Boost your tank and not expect a Nic Punch
You can't just switch to PWM and expect to fire and vape. You have to adjust to the proper output for your tank.

Watch the Review. Learn a little(or a lot) about the Device you bought.

I mostly had it on DC, PWM was very weak and I didn't experiment with it much. My throat is so badly burned right now, I have to wait a few days before experimenting again with the IPV mini.

That explains it.

The ipv mini in PWM mode is truly giving you 6 watts. In DC mode it can only give full battery volts or higher.

The iStick set at 3volts is really hitting at battery power. Maybe a touch more.

The the ipv back into PWM mode. Then set it at 6 watts. If it's too weak, up it a little at a time until it's satisfactory.

Also 26mg nic is a bit much. But that's another subject.

Right now I'm happy with the istick and how it functions, except for the battery swap, so a battery modification won't change anything and still work good. I would just add copper pickups on both ends.

Here is inside of the istick (The counterfeit AW battery is there to show size)
inside istick eleaf.jpg

I need to explain this further. After the battery modication, I will be able to only need to unscrew the two bottom screws, pop the cover off and change the battery.

I think the device you are looking for will be out shortly. New mini mods are coming out frequently these days. I'd keep an eye on Innokin as they have some with "step down" and have more new devices in the works. There is enough of a market for "step down" that the higher end devices ARE producing chips that do so......despite the negative and unmannerly comments on this thread.

Despite what the "pack" likes to think, you are not alone. Low watts vapers just don't seem to be as vocal , IMHO.

BTW, the iStick mini AND the iStick 30 appear to be using RMS technology and thus not run so hot. The 30 may become just as popular as the 20 watt and has other improvements in the design as well, including stronger threads. It could be a good addition to your arsenal as you continue to watch the new inexpensive devices coming out---and read the reviews.

Also, I recall when anything under 18 was wimpy!!! Last time I checked, most suppliers do sell 6, 12, 18, 24 and 36. You are not alone.
