VV eGo-T type A kite!
https://www.canvape.com/ProductDetai...ode=EGOVV900PT
Current price: $64.95
Opening sale price: $39.95!!

Oh my friend... ***shakes head*** In poker you never want to show your hand...

Anyone with a calculator can do $64.95 - $39.95 = $25.00.. So now if you ever decided to go to your "current price" rather than having it permanently crossed out as a tacky prop as if its a saving... All your customers know you are ripping them off $25.00 per kit.. Sell the 1,000 kits in a day they think you are moving and you are making $25,000 per day!! You greedy $^#^$^ LOL ;)

Think crappy tire... Would you EVER buy a tool from them at full price?

Wait.. he has no liquid on his site...

Where's the profit?

Where's the profit?

There isn't any.. Didn't you read his other posts? He's a business professional who's in the business not to make money.. His words not mine.

"That is what happens when an organized professional with a background in business enters a market jammed with your likes, in search of no glorious profits, at all, what so ever. For as long as I have been on here it's been quite easy to tell I haven't focused on making friends."

Bit lost as to the friends part. One would think giving away stuff would make lots of friends, who hates Santa?

I believe he was trying to say that you and your type are the ones who are trying to make friends and help everyone instead of making a profit. But thats completely counter to what you said... and your post history showing your profit-minded approach... and his at-cost no profit margin pricing...

Guy makes no sense.

Well he has a phone line that's he's proud of. Maybe we should call for clarification?

Its like he said, if you followed the Canada forum you'd know.. It's bad business gone wild... You get a basement retailer showing up every day with no margin products. Looks like its a huge growing market. However if you do your homework you see those companies last about 3 months then fold.

Bit like our old friend guitar man.. rock on!!

Same path as our friend here. No margin gets him all the orders from the 50 active Canadians in the Canada forum. Give him a very generous $50/per order X 100 orders for $5,000 gross. His margin would be 10% or less making him a massive $250-$500 profit. After the flash in the pan affect is over and orders drop the situation gets worse. ;)

I'm not Canadian, so this isn't a situation that effects me, as my face is fully connected at the mouth... but there is something I want to point out.

He's selling the rider VV as the Lavatube, which is odd, because Lavatube is Volcano's trade name for that device... it'd be like him selling and eGo named the inferno, or a 510 called the magma... that in itself is kinda shady/dumb...

other than that...

....... santa.

...boys... you need more rum in your eggnog - and a bit more Mazel in your Tov (lol... happy Hannukah!).

Seriously though the Canadian market right now is in very bad shape for ecigs. Everyday there is a handful of new businesses trying to get up and running - most don't even get out of the starting gate.

On one hand: Health Canada is seizing huge amounts of hardware, batteries and atomizers, cartos, etc. Chasing down ecig vendors, emailing threatening letters, putting out warnings to the public not to touch ecigs. And they are doing it all under legislation that they wrote to allow themselves to do this - while ignoring legislation that makes nic ecigs legal.... (and, no, we don't have the US system of testing laws via a constitution - so it's kiss ... or crawl away).

On the other hand: A US "quasi doctor" got a license to sell disposable ecigs as "toys to accompany NRT's in smoking cessation" - and is marketing them right across the country at a staggering rate. They taste like crap and work like crap and too many people are trying out ecigs and discovering they are crap.

On the other hand there are vendors who've organized and are planning the offensive to change all this. But that offensive will take money.

So - I won't be polite and I won't ask for forgiveness - here it is:

1. Price wars are stupid. Every company in Canada that practised this is gone. EVEN the one that was most beloved of all and had a huge customer base. This is simple math - if you're not making enough to restock, pay the bills and feed yourself - your prices are not honest. Not to yourself and not to your customers. You will disappoint them when you go under and they will find another and be just as happy.

2. There are an estimated 3 million smokers in Canada and less than 1% have vaped on a real ecig. There's your market. The cigarette companies aren't worried about keeping them, they don't go into price wars, they make billions. Ecigs are cheaper and better - find 1000 smokers in your area, convert them into vapers and watch your business grow. While competition between ecig vendors is good and healthy for the market - super competition will bury it.

3. There is a fight coming with Health Canada. It will be expensive. It will be time consuming. If you're trying to kill the small handful of vendors who operate in Canada - who will fight that fight? It will be lost. Then where will all your happy customers go? and for how long? and what will you do when it becomes impossible to even import a battery? (it's getting closer to that now already).

Don't get me wrong - I fully support competitive markets and the right of each company to play their competition on whatever field they choose.

I just don't see the value of shooting everyone else in the field just to say that you could. Not when there is more threat from without than there will ever be from within.

If the vendors taking on HC succeed - yes, a more competitive market will open up - but even if 10 new businesses opened their doors tomorrow - all together - they couldn't cover 1/10 of the overall market.

So what's the point of over aggressive competition right now?

Yup - I'm greedy and gouging the poor unsuspecting customer. I hide it though. Hide it well.

I hide my bentley in the basement garage of the mansion I don't go to so no one knows it's mine.

I further disguise my incredible weath by driving around in a mini-van filled with teenagers and a dog, shopping at walmart and wearing reasonably sensible shoes (well, sensible for an X-gener with good legs and a love of mini skirts....)

...oh and the butler is the one who does the 4 am ordering.

Quit the sarcasm Kat, we are all suppliers here... We know that if a kit is marked up $10 wholesale cost, that's $10 cash in your pocket, and you are selling 1,000 kits a day!! Not hard to do that simple math with a business degree ;) Socially responsible solution would be to mark them up only $1.00 donate $975 to save the whales fund, and issue tax receipts to your customers!

Math lesson #2

The cost of a retail item on the wholesale PI is not the cost of the item to the retailer.

The item needs to be shipped, of course, and gas expense to pick it up (my stuff doesn't come to my door or down my chimney - santa was just too unreliable with his once a year service and no signature required....).

But then there is the monthly expenses on storage (I refuse to keep my kits piled up in the snow behind the garage). Then light and heat and cooling (so it all works when it should and so we can see what we're putting into the envelope).

And of course there is postage (a bit extra from what's charged) and packing materials.

Then - as every good business person knows - there are basic business expenses -

- bookkeeping for GST and HST and taxes
- annual business licensing
- printers, ink, paper
- broadband connection, website hosting and some website corrections/alterations
- advertising, memberships, promotionals
- freebies and samples to give to loyal customers or newbies

And of course some minor payment to the team members - so everyone can actually eat food (and not have to dig it out of a garbage bin) and live somewhere (my team members don't like those free shelters - they're soooo noisy).

So at the end of the day - we all get by.

....guess I'll have to sell the Bentley......

...oh and the 1000 kits a day thing - like RIGHT! Can't even get a thousand kits a day into Canada - much less figure out how to sell that many or where to put them....

I do like the idea of saving the whales though. ....

Maybe we can even start a 2nd private sub-forum for "socially responsible, homeless vendors"

So I poke my head out just to say I'm glad I've irritated you all. You could only hope that I was a fly by nighter or requiring this business to make any money at all. My pool is heated regardless of what happens at canvape. Sales are good Tom is happy customers seem pleased. Everything else I don't give a crap about. Sorry for your luck. Santa's here, and it's the evil one from futurama not the jolly fat one. Better start delivering pizza pies PT with that Van Kat and can_supplier as long as you find local ......s in whatever inbred city you reside to pay your prices enjoy but the Canadian on-line world is mine. Keep the thread going I'll stop back soon. Fill you in on what's happening next in a few weeks and what's happening after that. As far as the US suppliers go join in, you're comments are totally irrelevant other then boosting Mr. Perry Sounds and now Vanna's new found ego. A bid you adieu for the time being.

I love it when pompous asses go down in flames :) This will be good....

Dude, if you were that great, I'd have no shame in copying every move. Might want to get my location right if you want to play the disgruntled out to seek revenge customer card. wouldn't mind to be in Perry Sound at all. Nice cottages there in the 1,000 islands, when you gain sail your yaught right to.. Things that profits can get you, if you don't need to forgo those to buy friends.

Let me let you in on a little secret. I expected this business/market to last 1 year and make me maybe 20K. Anything beyond that is gravy. Here I sit over 2 years later having make that many times over, something you will never see. Since I am working on bonus time, it is possible I get shut down tomorrow, by some real threats, like HC. If that happens, meh, I had a good run, my expenses are long covered, and even if I didn't have another source of income I could comfortably sit around for a long time. Only in your wildest dreams would you waste enough of your time to even put a dent in my business, you are not even a fly on my wall on what could be the evening of armageddon.

Sorry Son, its time for a reality check, as you are just making a fool of yourself.

AS for the irritation, a bit yes... Its like watching someone do something stupid like drive down the wrong side of the road. Really doesn't affect you any, but for some reason it is a bit irritating. Strange how the mind works sometimes.

Lets turn this thread into a pool... I pick the 1st week in March.
