I received an RSST a couple of days ago and I have been trying to get it set up.
I'm using 2mm 7/7 ss rope with some 400 ss mesh around the top and a 0.6 ribbon coil giving 1.2 ohms. Everything was oxidised and the coil lights up evenly.
The problem is nothing is coming up the wick to the coil! I've added a few drips to the coil to get it going but after that has burned off the coils just light up.
The juice is 60pg and 40vg.
Can anybody suggest what I may doing wrong?

cant see important details in your picture, but for the position of your wick seems like your wire is too tight, im using almos the same setup 3/32 7x7 ss rope and 400 mesh, i completely cover the rope with the mesh and like 3 or 4 wraps over it.

1. try to not strangle your rope
2. keep the airhole centered with your wick

ohh yeah thats so true, the rsst comes with some silicon caps fo the filler hole, try to vape without a cap on the filler hole

agreed. this is usually something that people do take out but if he left it in it could be a contributing factor. if it is indeed out this set-up should be vaping pretty good. although this set-up is not my cup of tea, I have done it. it wicks really good and is a good vape, it just has to much heat sink for me. it takes a lot of power to get going and all that power is going just to heat up the wick. like you said it could be from improper tension of the coil. in any case it still should stay fairly wet when tilting unless there is a short.

I just recently got in some 7/19 ss rope 3/32 size. I've really been diggin it, so far no leaks at all and no dry hits ever. I've set it up on both of my rsst's. It looks like you may be choking the rope a bit, I took some pictures of mine if it'll help. I used 5 wraps of 26 gauge in the pictures and it's been hitting really nice.IMG_20130902_001148.jpgIMG_20130902_001201.jpgIMG_20130902_001224.jpg
