The tank capacity on the 25mm Griffin is a lie, from what I've read it's closer to 4.5 ml.

For the hot spots, try squeezing with some ceramic tweezers while firing.

I'll throw my vote towards the Boreas, thing has been flawless.
Thank you SteamHead so much for the info. I didn't realize their specs would be a lie, but that's why I appreciate our ECF boards and the people here so much. We can all avoid issues and get a heads up.

Thanks again, that becomes a no no for me then, 4.5ml is too small. The Boreas sounds great. And I have tried the squeezing technique, but still have yet to master it...

Best Wishes...

I can think of 3-4 recent RTA purchases that have less than 5ml capacity that need not be recommended then. Funny, dual coils really need much larger tanks, however with top fill it is not as much of an issue.

While the list price might be outside of your budget, Tuesday I added a 7ml "Supreme" to the mix of tanks I use and so far can recommend it. JFC, AFC, large capacity, top fill, easy to build on 'volicity style' deck and unique side air ducts.

Thank you so much everyone. I ordered the Boreas tank, thanks to everyone's help. It has an increased build deck of 1mm over my current griffin. My clapton builds always seem to be just a touch too big for the griffin, but can't wait to pop em into the boreas.

Now the damn waiting game, tank should arrive by Monday, but Im like a little kid at Christmas when I order something online, I simply can't wait for it to arrive so I can play..

I look forward to getting the Supreme in a few months too when I can trick myself into justifying that purchase :D

    Hello All,

So i got lucky and the my boreas tank came in just one day, it shipped from the same state.

I am just having a bit of an issue I was hoping you guys could help me with...

I wicked and made sure the juice holes were covered with cotton but now when I fill the tank, even when the air holes are completely shut, it leaks a little out.

Is there a certain way of wicking it to completely avoid out any leakage issues?

    Thank you, much appreciated

If you read back in the thread everyone told you the Boreas is known for leaking when top filled, which is why everyone recommends bottom filling it. That is also why some of us recommended the Aromamizer Supreme.

Thanks folks and your right ismokeinbinary, I did see that about the boreas, the supreme was just a bit out of my price range and I liked a couple of things noted on the boreas more. Like i said, I will trick myself into justifying getting the supreme too...lol...

I've already changed the coils a couple times, just to taste different types... It was absolutely leak proof on instance and other time it leaked soon as I filled but stopped shortly thereafter.

I think rice721 is right, just gotta make sure those holes are covered... Several people on YouTube video reviews also mentioned trial and error on getting the wicking just right...

But so far as taste and how it hits... .... Lol I'm in love again. Hits great and I don't have to refill 100 times a day like my Griffin.....

Thank you MMW, I really hope so, I love the way it tastes, but I keep having the leaking issue. I just hope I do get dialed in like you said...guess I just need to practice covering the holes.

And I wish ej1024, definetly not advanced, though I have gotten really good at building different coils, kinda may sound nuts, but I don't think Ive gone more than two days without changing my coil, not cause of taste but just wanted to build a different type of coil.

and I did hear a ton of good stuff about VCMT, that will be my next if not the supreme....

    Hey Guys,

just wanted to get a second opinion from people here, MMW, ismokeinbinary, ej1024, GeorgeS, rice721 and everyone here had so much great input. So Ive been playing around with the boreas all week and finally got the leaking issue under control (learned how to wick it right) But I have to say, I was getting much better flavor with my griffin. Maybe I am still doing something wrong.

But now I have tricked myself into justifying getting the supreme since everyone here praised it so much. But, the VCMT got several likes as well.

Any suggestions on the lack of flavor from the boreas? Any suggestions on VCMT versus supreme? Thank you so much everyone for your great input.

Vcmt is a law in itself

    It's big

    It's bad

    It's an amazing tank

However it's a pain in the assssss to carry round with you (30mm)

    True on all counts...;)

lol, damn Im tempted at blowing my budget and just getting the 30mm vcmt, cheapest I am finding it is around $65. I was already feeling guilty for maybe getting the supreme which is around $40 some places, but now this seems even more tempting.... lol

Ive gotten addicted to building fused claptons and am getting better at building them...this tank seems like it would do great on quad build...

For a very similar build deck (in size and design) but much lower price tag (and in a somewhat smaller and much lighter package), take a look at the Ohmega Aplha BFT 30mm tank. Here's a thread: Ohmega Alpha 30mm BFT Tank. Both have similar learning curves and similar issues (tricky to wick properly so you can refill without leaking, though this was more so the case with the Ohmega in my experience), but once you figure out a few of the tricks, they are both awesome. :thumb:

edit: Well, crud...Photobucket is down for maintenance. I was going to post a pic of the VCMT and BFT side by side. I'll stick it in here tomorrow.

Imho if you have the boreas and found that it didn't perform to what you liked then I would skip the supreme. They're essentially the same in performance.

You could try closing the bottom airflow. I find flavor to be better on tanks with some draw resistance and with the supreme I have the afc to the smallest DL setting.

Hey rice721, thanks so much, I didn't even think about that...based on your and everyone's thoughts here, both supreme and boreas perform similarly. I tried with closing the airflow, but not much difference... I know for sure I am doing something wrong... I get great, really great vapor production but the diy vanilla/toasted almond flavor I use was much more pronounced on the griffin.

What did make a bit of a difference was I took out the .18 fused clapton I was using and put in a .58 clapton...this made the flavor a bit more pronounced... but I have no clue if it was coil change, wicking or something else...

But again, thanks for the heads up...ur so right, makes more sense to get a different tank than the supreme which is so similar.

Not a problem, I know boreas and surpreme are popular on the forums. I have the supreme, its a nice RTA but its not my daily driver bc I know I have other RTAs that fit my profile better. Also I find these RTDAs to be wetter, you get more pronounced condensation around the airflow slots, probably bc how the coil is position directly behind it.

TVC70, thank you bud... I looked at the 30mm ohmega alpha bft and it looks great. Based on the some great thoughts from you and others, I think this is the tank I'm going to order. Seems to be really close to VCMT but a bit cheaper... and as rice721 mentioned, no sense in getting the supreme since its so similar to the boreas which I have...

Anyone know where I can order, a lot of places seem to be out of stock. Anyone ever order from vapor world or vapor council? Any of them legit? Any legit place you may know that has the 30mm in stock?

    Thanks a million....
