That's not small difference 6 - 12 mg :w00t:
For commercial e-liquids, 12 is typically 1 step up from 6.
i smoked more than you and 6 works well for me; that's why i suggested you start there then go higher if needed. Starting w/ 12, as UncleJunkle said, will be fine, too, & might be better for you.
Either way, experiment a little to find your preference.

I read about nic salts and I think I would like to try these too. I decided to buy Zenith tank and coils for free base and salts too. Which coils (and resistance) should I choose for nic salts and which ones for free base nic? Thanks guys !
There is no difference between which tank/coil can use freebase or salt nic (that's just marketing hype)
You have made some very good choices :thumb: If you get a Zlide (I just got one and like it), get the 4ml version (not just because it holds more juice) Several people told it's better. Zenith is also good but I would avoid the pro (cost more and more things to go wrong) There are many Z coils to choose from. I like the 0.8 ohm but sounds like you would like the 1.6 ohm better. I don't really see any reason to use salt nic (nothing against it, just it's more for higher nic levels like 30 mg) Have fun and also watch some videos on the Ares 2 (avoid the original Ares... many issues that seem to have been fixed with the version 2)

I decided to buy Zenith tank

I have and use the Zenith tanks since 2018 (in all 3 different sizes) and have the Zlide tanks (in 2 different sizes), too. I tried 1 of my 2mL Zlides for about a week, but I haven't tried 1 of my 4mL Zlides yet. The Zeniths are by far my favorite tanks. They're the ones I stocked up on the most, for the rest of my life. The 1.6ohm Z-coils are my favorites, though I've tried the 0.5ohm and the 0.8ohm ones, too. I didn't care for either of them.

As far as your nic mg...if you've only been smoking 6-10 cigarettes a day, and you tried the 3mg and found that it's too low...I'd recommend only going up to 6mg, rather than 12mg right away. I smoked 1-1.5 packs of ciggies a day for 42+ years...and 6mg eliquids worked well for me from the very beginning of vaping.

ETA: I don't see a location for you under your avatar, but I noticed you referred to someone as "mate", so...you're possibly not in the US. However, in case you are...Ejuices.com has the Geek Vape Solo Kit for only $28.99. But...they're running a Memorial Day Sale with 25% off sitewide. So it would be $21.74 + S/H, using the coupon code HEROES. If your order is $99 or more (before applying the coupon code which makes it much less)...the S/H is still Free! I just ordered 3 more of the kits + 2 packs of Vaporesso coils last night, and it worked then!

The Kit comes with the Cerberus tank, but even if you won't use the tank...the price is still very good for just the Solo mod itself. Someone you know may even want to buy the Cerberus tank from you, making your mod cost even less.

I live in Australia and I have to order nic stuff from New Zealand
Have you tried nic salts? How strong if yes? Cheers

You didn't quote nor refer to anyone in particular with your question above. So I'm unsure if you're asking me or not, but I'll give you my answer.

I haven't tried nic salts and have no reason to try them. I only use freebase nic in making my DIY eliquids, and they're all made at a 7mg nic strength. From my understanding...nic salts are used mainly by people who want to vape eliquids made at a much higher nic mg than I prefer...without getting a more intense, harsh throat hit when vaping it. For example, many of the pre-filled pod set-ups (ie. JUUL and others) have 30-50mg eliquids in their pre-filled cartridges/pods.

Only reason I use salts (9mg) rather than freebase is for their lack of throat hit. If you like th and are happy with freebase there is no reason to switch to salts unless you want a much higher nic mg.

Thank you guys.
I read that the nic salts are more close to ciggs (nicotine travel to blood stream much faster) and it could be better option for who try to stop smoking

no... that's more of a sales gimmick. I don't think it's any different than freebase for absorption rates. That's just my opinion though.

It's designed to be easier on the throat, that's it, and it's very effective at that, but that's nothing to do with how your body absorbs the nic, and for that I don't see any difference. Nicotine is nicotine is nicotine...

It's actually the exact opposite, cause of it's ph-value, salts get absorbed even slower, just watched a video about it from an Austrian Toxicologist who studies about nicotine. Juul where the first which came up with the faster absorption myth, but they refused to show the data how they came to that conclusion, i wonder why. ;)
