Something like this Carbon Fiber would look super and be quite effective in protecting your Provari unit I think = 3M DiNOC Carbon Fiber self adhesive Vinyl CA-421 a bit pricey but you get the idea !
What about a grip from a motorcycle or bicycle? Could be cool if it's one of those two tone deals and the hand stop could be a overflow guard kind of......or flip it around & use it as a stand...dang now I want to go to the bike shop and look around
"You can buy a rubber paint that you dip tools into to make rubber handles. cling film the provari (scary bit ) and dip it into the rubber paint let it dry and remove the provari and cling film hey presto rubber cover just a thought."
I would advise against using Plasti-Dip. I tried using this stuff before on hand tools & was not impressed. It dries unevenly, and does stand up to well to chemicals. You need to properly clean & prep the surface of what you're going to apply this to for best results. I don't know if they improved the formula. JMHO. You're better off buying something pre-made that would fit or use Dalton's suggestion. It would be much easier than explaining that something seeped in to your ProVari & it no longer works as it should. On a mechanical mod maybe, on an electronically controlled PV not so sure.
Ever thought about say a heater hose from a car or a bike tube. Both are rubber but one will be a lot thicker. Both can be cut to size and both will take a juice leak.
This cost me about 10 bucks from a Fabric place. Very simple to make, and enough material to make 4 of these.
Made two out of suede, they work and feel great !
Just bought some leather scraps and some small leather braided cord. We'll see what I come up with.
