Rule of Thumb Voltage to Ohm setting

I found a post that made sense when it comes to voltage and ohms. He, I don't remember his name nor could I reply in quotes due to being new, said that you can take the Ohm reading and just add two to the number. So, from what i gathered, I am vaping a 1.5 Ohm kanger protank 2 rebuilt head on my Itaste SVD with the volts at 3.5 and watts at 8.0 This sounds like a good rule of thumb to follow. Does anyone else have any other tips for a new guy to vaping?

It is a good rule of thumb to follow to get you in the general area of the most common ohms/voltage settings. I think coils with ohms from about 1.5 to 3.0 can use this method to get to the ballpark just fine. I know I did at first. I would say a better rule of thumb is 1.5 - 2.5 added to Ohms will most likely give you the voltage setting for most coils setups and preferred vaping between about 1.2 and 3.0 Ohm coils. Try this calculator, and keep Watts constant to play around with the variables:

Good luck!

:rules: OF THUMB FOR VAPING

  • "Have backups for your backups" - you can't vape if you don't have charged batteries, working juice attachments, or e-liquid.

  • Drink plenty of water - propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin draw moisture from your tissues and can cause dehydration.

  • Proper vaping techique - Take long gentle draws. Imagine sucking on a straw in a thick milkshake. Use your cheek muscles. Hold the vapor in your mouth for a second. Then inhale into your lungs, and exhale through your mouth and nose. The nicotine in vapor is mostly absorbed in the mouth, throat, and nasal passageways. Your sense of smell contributes to your sense of taste, which is helpful because your taste buds have been damaged from years of smoking.

  • Try to find e-liquid companies who offer sampler packs to try new flavors. This is less expensive than purchasing larger bottles of liquids that you may not care for. Once you find a winner, order more in a larger size.

  • If you have a local vape shop which offers free sampling of their flavors, take advantage of this.
