does anyone know where to find info on correct voltage to use for different ohms heads? for example im using a provari with a vivi nova tank 2.8ohm head and vaping at 4.6 volts but my buddy told me i can vape at 5 or 5.2 volts, is it more of a personal preference for taste or is there a rule of thumb for each size head?

There is a chart somewhere that I've seen but for me the easiest for me to remember is basically multiplying the ohms times 2 to get the voltage limit, for the most part. For example, if you are using a 2.5 ohm head, multiply it by 2 and you should be able to Vape it at 5 volts. That is not an exact science and some juices may taste better at a lower voltage, but it's a basic idea on it. However, dual coil cartomizers are a bit different. I tend to Vape a little lower though.

Here is the formula and chart.

If you are into that sort of thing...

Why, oh why, does it do that?

Although the charts are very helpful most enjoy vaping at a certain wattage- anywhere from 7.5- 9.00 watts. Here's a calculator. Just enter voltage+ ohms and you'll get the expected wattage. Realize most delivery devices (holds and vaporizes the juice) are not accurate as per advertised ohms:

Calculus. Does anyone here want to translate this for me please ?[/QUOTE

Look at the inner circle, take the letter p (watts). Look at the top V (voltage) squared divided by resistance = watts.

So the OP running 2.8 ohms at 4.6 volts...... 4.6 X 4.6 = 21.16. 21.16 divided by 2.8 ohms = 7.5571428 watts.

Easy rule of thumb is ohms + 2 and move up or down according to taste from there. How hot you run depends on the delivery device AND the juice itself as well as your own personal preferences. Ohms * 2 can easily be too hot.

This, pretty much consistently will put you in the 8 watt range without any fuss. +/- .2v will generally get you to smooth sailing.

I adjust my volts according to taste. When using a new juice, I start off at some 3.7 volts and increase to find that sweet spot. Typically, my cartomizers are rated between 2.5 to 3.0 ohms. This method has worked quite well for me using my ego c twist and provari.
