Hey I am looking to start some DIY juice. I plan on ordering from Lorann or really anywhere that people have had great flavors and little to no damage to the atomizer. Any Info would be greatly appreciated.
Atomizers fail on their own schedule. Some last days, some last months. What's the secret? I don't personally think there is one.
Kate has a list that she compiled, but I think it's just speculation.
Avoid oils and sugars. Colors haven't convinced me.
Thanks allot Walrus. Has any body had luck with a strong vanilla flavor?
Natural Vanilla extract is virtually always alcohol based. As a matter of fact you can make it very easily by keeping a vanilla bean in high proof vodka for a few weeks/months.A standard Vanilla extract is oil based as well, isn't it?

True, that's why it's highly flammable. I mis-spoke (typed?), it's not oil in Vanilla extracts that are the problem...it's that the extracts may still contain some sugar, corn syrup, caramel, colors as well as stabilizers.
That's why I'm looking for a flavoring that doesn't contain those. Well, the color doesn't bother me.

I sent this in your blog but you might not have seen it, Sans-color rootbeer flavor:
Root Beer Oil from AmericanSpice.com - AmericanSpice.com
The second... has caramel coloring. Looks to be roughly the same as Lorann's Root Beer without the Polysorbate 80 and Potassium Sorbate, which I don't think are harmful based on research.
Sorry I posted the wrong one. The one I meant to send was this one:

Thanks Sun.....I apreciated the "Strong/Very Good" part..lolOk people--our atomizers love flavor, but can be clogged by the use of oil based flavorings. The flavors need to be water soluable. There has been some confusion over LorAnn flavoring as they call all their flavors "oils" when in fact that is just their term of art for all of their flavors. If you are going to buy flavors, the key is that they are water soluable. I have reviewed the list of flavors myself from Lorann ( http://www.lorannoils.com ) and can confim that the following are flavors that I think are in fact compatable with our atomizers and also note as to some that I have had very good results with
and note that the stronger the better as you just use less in your mixture (weak means I could not justify buying again). Again do not even bother with the flavorings in the grocery store as you will not get flavor--they simply are not strong enough:
And as the old saying goes--taste is subjective
Flavors I have bought:
Apple (Medium--Very good)
Bavarian Creme (Strong--Very Good)
Black Walnut (felt lke a squirrel)
Blackberry (Strong--Very good

There is a Vanilla, but I have found that the alcohol content is way too high and tends to take over the flavor so I can not recommend it---Happy Vaping--Sun
Would like to see Bickford flavors going through that test also... the one bickford that did get tested, the apple, came out of that test with very good marks. It's quite a big task, but a dry residue test for each of these would be nice.
