Russian 91 leaking base

I just got my new russian 91 (v1) yesterday, did a good wash etc, filled her up and now this is happening... The O-ring seemed fine and was tucked down to the bottom...

Anyone had this happen?

Probably have a burr in the thread - try backing it in and out a few times

Isn't that going to loosen the vaccum and cause it to leak from the drip tip?

If it's upside-down you shouldn't have any problems moving it a turn or so, but to clear a burr you might have to disassemble.
In fiddling with the base, you might loosen the chimney which may cause more long-term leakage. If that happens you'll have to empty and disassemble.

It was just today though, yesterday it didn't leak, this morning I filled it up a bit (never to the max, not even close) through the fill hole and this happened weird... no leaks through the fill hole though nor the air hole, just through those specific threads.

Also, it's not like, it's not a LEAK per say, it's kind of like leaking very very very slowly, you look at it and it's fine, 30 mins later it's got a little bit of liquid around those seams but it's definitely working it's way down the threads very very slowly.

My Russian 91% does this as well. I've learned to just live with it and give it a wipe before I pick it up, but it's caused me to use my Kayfun Lite+ in lieu of it in most cases.

Damn... I hope it's a faulty o-ring... Would probably Kayfun's o-rings work better? I seem to remember they weren't as flimsy as these ones

I certainly don't get that leaking. I do get a bit from the fill-hole, which is countersunk and doesn't have an o-ring. I think they've fixed that. I would try swapping the o-ring, maybe after wiping the threads with steel wool.

Mine does this on occasion. When it happens I disassemble my tank, clean it, wipe all threads, and allow it to dry completely before reassembling it. It usually clears it up, and I have yet to change an o ring. The important thing is not to clean the o rings with alcohol. It dries them out causing them to cracked and leak.
