I toss my jug of 500ml wizard labs nic in my desk drawer for a couple of months, and it remains clear. You might have to keep the lid off and sit it in the sun to oxidize quickly.

Thanks, i know.
The bottle of RTS and Wizard that I took out of the Freezer over a month ago, each only with 1/4 bottle of nic left in them after mixing at that time, are still clear. I just tranfered 2ml from each to the wizard 8ml vails, along with some newer RTS that I just got. I plan on doing some quickly and some slowly......Im retired now......I got some time :)

Interesting. I might throw a few bottles in the fridge but I have a feeling the freezer is the best way. I've read a few reports of people storing pg nic in the freezer and taking it out 3 years later to be just as good as it was new. I'm using 120ml boston rounds

I sent wizard an email yesterday. They just replied and basically said that all their nicotine is freshly mixed and the conditions once it leaves their facility are not under control, but they are still going to send me a replacement.

I just put it in freezer from the bags they came from without opening them for long term storage.
It doesnt make much sense to open the bottle and expose it to more oxygen and store in bottles, when you can just leave it sealed in the double packages straight to freezer without more exposure. I have only purchased nic from wizards.
I am not sure if topping off the bottle as you rebottle will have any added benefits after being opened is my theory. I could be wrong to I guess.

so does that mean it is probably better to store my nic in the freezer on my fridge which is auto defrost instead of my stand alone freezer which is NOT auto defrost (I have to defrost it)? thanks
I would keep it frozen in the freezer on your fridge, given the choice. There will be temperature cycles in the combo fridge unit that the old deep freeze won't have, but I would opt for the most dry environment.

I was wondering about this..they ship them in dark blue/black bottles, plus they have them wrapped in 4 layers of stuff..2 bubble wrap and 2 plastic things that are sealed. Can this be done for freezing? Would be a lot easier if the answer is yes!

Probably email them at WL for the best answer. Most people don't like to freeze in plastic, but this is a different plastic than I've encountered before, myself.

It'd be an ideal set-up too given that they ship it with Nitrogen gas, removing the oxygen. Pretty sure No One else does this. Very professional lab, and owner.

As a professional chemist, I would recommend storing long term in glass. Nic in high concentration will slowly dissolve plastic, and PG will leach plasticizers from plastic. VG might too.

Maybe he will see this and comment.
It sounds like a great idea if the plastic holds up.
The only other thing is, back to the OP - how would you know the condition of the nic you recieved?

What do you mean? I made this thread because two different bottles of wizard nic were different colors when they both had not been opened before. Wizard didn't think it was anything to worry about but sent me a replacement anyway.

Pure nicotine can be clear, or yellow. it can be strong in smell or very light.

nicotine oxidizes once one of its 4 enemies comes in contact with it. What are nicotine's 4 enemies?

    - Water
    - Oxygen
    - Light
    - Heat

the moment you open your nic bottle when you receive it in the mail it starts the oxidization process. Once nicotine oxidizes it turns into a yellow, rusty, or even pink color.
If you open your nic bottle after receiving it in the mail.. use some, then shake it, you will automatically oxidize your whole bottle because once you opened the bottle you let in light, moisture from the environment, and oxygen. And so of course when you shake it, it just oxidizes faster.

I have noticed that nicotine oxidizes quicker in VG. I have also noticed that most of the time nicotine will be clear in low strengths. Even if its oxidized because of how diluted it is with PG or VG. However, you will see more of a color the stronger the nic base is. Sometimes you will get a bottle of 100mg @ 500mls and it will be clear also, thats because it has not been oxidized that much and its been taken care of in the sense of keeping it away from it 4 enemies.

Just because your nicotine is oxidized, doesn't mean its gone bad. Nicotine does not spoil like a carton of milk. Normally i would give a shelf life of about a year for nicotine before i test it again. But if the nic has been stored properly and none of the 4 enemies has gotten to your bottle then it should stay the same as when you first got your bottle. Even after a year has passed.

To answer your question about transferring VG, all you need is a 14g blunt needle tip and a big syringe.. its the best way to transfer from one bottle to another without making a big mess.

Agree with 95% of your post.

Except "the easiest way to transfer VG"......Definitely not via a 20 or 30 mil syringe with a 14 gauge blunt tip! Takes forever!

I pour out of an Essential Depot gallon container into ANCHOR HOCKING measured glassware. I have a 150 mill glass and a 250 mill. MUCH FASTER....less mess too.

ONLY glass.....I buy 30 mill net tobacco for morning coffee vapes.....I make 99.5% of the eliquid in this house....but I do transfer my 30 mill NETS into glass bottles within a few days.

Its not necessary to do so that quickly but I have boxes of brown amber bottles anyway, so I do it right away. Why take a chance on polycarbons leeching into eliquids? I smoked unhealthy things for decades, now I try to keep as sanitary as possible.

    Hi bace a flunt,
Yes I know, we were wondering if it would be better to leave in the plastic bottle - but how would you know the condition of the nic if you didn't open and check.

I wouldnt recommend using those glass measuring cups for tranferring if your going to be transferring into a small 30ml glass amber bottle. espescially with the viscosity of vg while pouring... you can over pour easy with that anchor hocking glassware. But of course i would def. use the anchor hocking measuring cups if i was pouring into an essential depot gallon.. or any other container with a wide mouth. but its not a good idea using them for small glass bottles for storage. espescially if your nic is at a high miligram strength.

^^ the syringes might work for you.. and if its high in mg strength then even better because you dont want it on your hands, table, rug... you dont want it on anything. It might take longer yes, but its safer.

remember to wear gloves when you do this. and to try to get maybe a plastic shoe box or maybe a cookie tray to do your tranferring so that if there is a spill, you can control as to what gets contaminated.

Graduated cylinders work for me especially when I have a large amount of high percentage nic base that I want to get diluted and bottled up for storage. A pair of 100ml cylinders work great for this. I also have graduated cylinders in 25ml and 10ml but those are mostly used for making batches of finished juice. Graduated cylinders are easy to pour but require additional care during use to prevent tipping over.

A modern frost-free freezer unit found in most home refrigerator/freezer combos will dehumidify the interior of the freezer cabinet. Frost-free freezers do not increase humidity inside the freezer, but the opposite. This drying can accelerate the effects of freezer burn if the food is not well sealed from air.

Good to know! I'm not the fridge/freezer master by any means haha.

Throw a hygrometer in the freezer and measure the humidity! let us know what it is and if it's anywhere near 20% or below, you should be good to go imo :)

Anchor Hocking glassware is used to pour copius amounts of pg and vg into. Its what I mix in.

I extract the finished and stirred eliquid FROM the Anchor Hocking glassware and dispense via syringe. Into 20, 30, 60 and 120 ml glass bottles......

    Lets see your pics.

I've never worn gloves for handling 10% nic......I don't mix near kids or pets. People recommending gloves for 4.8, 6, and 10% nic must be overly cautious. If you tend to make mistakes and get sloppy you shouldn't be making eliquids!

Why would I pour FROM anchor hocking glassware. Its what I mix in. Did you somehow miss the PILE of syringes in the pic above?
I'm not a "pretend expert"......I have lots of equipment, and pics for it all. Lets see your stuff.
