Rusty Ipv Mini ?

I've had my ipv Mini for ~7 or 8 months now it still works great but as of recent,where the paint's wearing off,it's getting rusty.
Has anyone else noticed this with theirs?

I'm thinking of letting mine rust up some more,buff it up a tad then clear coat it for a nice patina look.
