RX300 caught fire!!

Don't get too upset...it was pretty much a blanket statement regarding ANY device that runs 300w. I have no Wismec products or smok products to judge anything by...but 300w is pretty scary.

Not upset I don't think that I've ever got upset over the Interwebbies.

I believe improperly and/or overcharged batteries increase the risk of failure. You should never charge batteries on a device that does not support automatic shutdown at full charge, and never inside the mod. The heat places undue stress on the control board.

Be mindful of your environment as well. These devices are soldered with lead-free (RoHS) solder. Lead-free solder is non-pliable, cracking easily when subjected to temperature extremes. Lead was added to solder for stability. Those experiencing sub-zero winters may want to deem your mech devices as seasonal... i.e. Winter mods.

Why? Did I miss all posts of Wismec mods overheating? Seems like this place has had mostly Smok mod problems.
I'm not seeing anything, I guess we travel different roads here.

I have 4 Wismec RX 200's and have NEVER given me any trouble! I don't know what happened with the RX300. Thanks for all off the comments and advice folks!

Sorry to hear about it. Is the mod still under warranty? As yes, it sounds like an electrical issue of some kind. Ditching the batteries is probably the safest bet too, unfortunately.

actually taking the batteries to a recycling center is the safest way. never throw away batteries. most best buys have a recycle bin by the front door

My son is in Tech and used to work for Geek Squad, so yes the batteries end up there. Great advice for people that don't know though!!!

I have had two of them both lasted about 30 days past the warranty.
