Recently I've been getting into sub ohm vaping and would like to get a good setup to vape at around 40-50w. My friend suggested to get the Serpent mini rather than the griffin as he mentioned that the griffin would drain my single 18650 very fast since it is a dual coil. The serpent is putting me off as it is single coil and I think dual coil would suite me better as I purely want this setup for high wattage and good flavor. Is the Griffin with the RX75 that bad? (I ordered one spare battery for the mod). What are your thoughts about this and it this isn't right what would you recommend?

Depends on your ohm. I think you'd be ok though with a spare battery.
But, when all's said and done, if your Serpent and Griffin are @, let's say 0.5 ohm (like mine, both at 0.5ish), then they'd draw the same amount of wattage/hours feom your battery.
Never heard of a particular brand drains more battery than another.

do not fear the single coil....haven't used a griffin but i really dig the serp. mini....pretty easy to build doesn't leak when wicked properly and flavor and vapor are as good as any tank that i have tried imho...running a .58 26g/36g ss clapton at 38 watts on a pico and getting 6 hours out of a samsung 30q...

dual coils seem to shorten battery life in my experience simply because there's more metal to heat up (assuming that's the how he plans to run the griffin)....then there's the whole juice consumption thing (more with duals)

However I would be using a dual coil on the Griffin and a single coil on the Serpent, doesn't dual coils drain more battery then a single coil?

Would avoid because reviewers had issues.

I would go eVic VTC Mini or Pico, ipv, etc.

I don't see any issues with using dual coils on one battery. My current work setup is a Pico with a Goblin Mini V2 with a .75 ohm dual 28g build. I'm using Samsung 25R batteries and get almost a day and a half on one battery at between 25 and 35 watts.

Might not be an issue if you vape occasionally throughout that day but a full day of heavy vaping for some won't last 4 hours, as well as some don't have .75 coils and would require more wattage
Battery drain
