Hey Guys,

So I am still searching far and wide to find a flavor to vape other than my bobas bounty. Everything I try seems too sweet so I am starting to firmly belive that I am a tobacco flavor only kinda guy - atleast I havent found any fruits I like yet.

So to my question - I purchased RY8 and Swagger from pinkspot vapor and to me, they taste exactly the same (and too sweet). After reading more about RY4 it would seem a lot of ejuice makers use RY4 as a base or in their mix somehow and I am thinking this may be the flavor that is in both juices. Its a sweet carmel/vanilla type flavor and from the desctription this is what RY4 is. Now that I vaped the swagger and the RY8 - I can now identify the same taste slightly in bobas bounty (unless the flavor is stuck in my mouth).

So what im wondering is, If I am correct and several juice vendors use the same sort of base flavor (like RY4) in their mixtures - Isnt it hard to find something that tastes unique? I'm worried about all these "great tobacco flavors" that are suggested may just be RY4 redone slightly different - yet basically tasting the same?

In summary: I have 3 juices that basically taste similar and dont want to add to the collection

I have seen gandalf suggested a few times. Is this a RY4 based tobacco juice?

Thanks Much!

edit: a simple waffle flavor that doesn't have a ton of maple seems like it could be good - that is one "sweetish" flavor I still wanna check out.

Ry4 can be very different depending on the supplier, but most seem to have general sweetness that does not fit your flavor profile! I would stay away from Ry4 in general if a slightly sweet tobacco is not your thing. I've been vaping VaporBeast Holy Grail Ry4 and LOVE IT, but I'm sure it is to sweet for you. Their Kick Ash tobacco is not as sweet and may be closer to what your looking for. But my feeling is something even less sweet is what's needed for you!

I hope others chime in with some recommendations! I enjoy a little sweetness in my tobacco so I'm probably not the best person to offer recommendations!

Good luck, I'm sure others will have good ideas for you. :)

This Gandalf sounds interesting, although the description still leaves me curious.

After many reviews, we have decided to change the description of this flavor. Gandalf is an extracted pipe tobacco which is quickly gaining fame with vapers new and old. Many customers who do not like tobacco vapes, rave about Gandalf. It has qualities that go well beyond traditional tobacco vapes. For many, Gandalf has become that elusive all day vape that vapers are searching for. We'll let you make the final decision. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. This flavor is part of our Purity line. All flavor ingredients in our Purity line are propylene glycol (PG) free which is why we can offer this particular vape in your favorite PG/VG ratio including 100% organic VG if desired.

This description was also a bit confusing when I first read it. I ve been browsing many of the DIY juice places and when they sell their juices they also say PG free, meaning that the flavor is pure extracts making it more potent and not diluted. I am assuming this means the flavor is truer and stronger. From what Ive read in a bottle of juice(per say) you have your ratio of PG and VG and whatever those are 10% is supposed to be the flavor. I hope this makes sense, Im confused just writing this.

I had previously talked to 1atom12 about changing the description on the site because it was, quite frankly, scaring some would be buyers off. Some people don't taste pipe tobacco, some do (I don't), but most people that don't taste pipe tobacco have all types of responses that cannot be pigeonholed into one description. Read ECF member Ohai's review on Gandalf post #141 and contrast it with luceblueboy's review post #1. Billherbst also wrote a review on the same page as luce's review--the only consensus really is that it is a damn good vape.

i have found that sampling flavors back to back, or one right after the other, you tend to have the previous flavors still in your mouth and on your brain. there was a time when i thought that BWB Casablanca and BWB 555 Exotic tasted the same. i couldnt have been further from the truth. but it didnt dawn on me until i sat there and puffed just 1 of them for a full carto/milliliter/what-have-you.
now, there very well may be some similarities in the juices you described. i cant tell because ive never tried pink spot, but i do know that tasting juices back to back can often not give you theri true flavor.
oh, and RY4 is not a base flavor. its a combination of flavors. its possible that the same tobacco base is used between vendors, but not RY4 as RY4 is more of a recipe. the base flavor would be compared to an ingredient.

I am a Bobas junkie as well, and I switch to CopperCreek House blend, or KVS OMFG tabacco, or Mad Hatter Smooth when my tatse buds are shot. I havent tried this Gandalf yet, but I am gonna have to place an order it seems. I keep a 100ml bottle of Bobas, and by the time I am 30ml in, I will switch juices for a few days, and then come back to Bobas and love it all over again.

Thank you Mr Mann, this is an awesome thread, I think I have found a group that is "a kin" , sympatico, heck with the same tastes I have. I love the description and the similar reactions to the artificially flavored cig like taste juices out there. Face it most of us smoked pretty much the same "crappy" cigs (marl, cams, etc) not many actually smoked high quality cigarettes that werent pumped full of 4,000 ingredients of junk. There was nothing like a real 100% tobacco cig with a good filter. Im sure we all know there is nothing out there that is going to replicate crap with 4000 other ingredients. I think that the new to vaping still think we need that just as I did. WHat we need to do is get a juice that is high enough in nic , one that tastes clean and organic, natural to satisfy them. Once you learn to appreciate the actual taste of real tobacco leaves it is heaven.

I was looking at heathers heavenly and their selection of tobaccos. I definately want to order Gandalf, but they have a few others that sound promising. There is the Dark Horse, dragon fire, Huntsman and the Pirates booty. Anyone ever try those? What did you like or dilike and why? Im hoping that maybe Heather has it tuned in as to what tobacco people like.
