hi all :)
i'm not long vaping and making my own juices and I am having a major problem
im using a subox mini around 15- 20 watts max I vape at
i started making my own juices because any juices I bought were either to strong in flavour i.e. very sweet
texas smoothie us of vape or very weak anyway when I make my own they are very harsh and im a 26 year non filter smoker,i use the ejuice me up for my mixing so far I have used nicbase pg,vg 50/50-nic 50mg/ml.
pg 30%,vg 70% nic strength 3% flavour 10% I have tried 5 different flavors all ending in same result then I changed my type of coil, cotton brand and also nicbase pg30/vg70 nic 12% same pg/vg/nic and flavour %
but still very harsh the flavors are the flavour apprentice and nicbase is chemnovatic
I have not had a analog since oct I don't think much about smoking one so vaping is working for me but im losing my mind and a lot of money :(

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Try making up a small batch of your nicotine base with just PG & VG (no flavorings) to rule out any problems with your nic base.

For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum. Lots of great info in all the "stickies". Below is the information I often give to members new to DIY.
  • Dannyv45's blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice. => dannyv45 - Blogs
  • Hoosier's blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives. =>Hoosier - Blogs
  • For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp

Hello @xnmerrittx and welcome to the forum. I use this "suggested" percentages list for my Flavor Apprentice DIY:

Flavor Percentage Recommendations

However, when you combine flavors the percentages will change. Check out some of these recipes:

For recipes only!!!!!!!

Clones are a good way for a newbie to find decent vapes, but not all clones are accurate... make SMALL batches to try BEFORE making a larger batch.
Solid list of DIY clones! • /r/DIY_eJuice <--Clones

You should understand you CANNOT change/substitute manufacturers in a recipe and get the same result. This thread is a good read for TFA (flavor apprentice) DIY :
The Flavor Apprentice Flavoring Thread

eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator <--download CALCULATOR I use, saves recipes and easy to work with.

Good luck in your DIY journey, you'll find your way.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Two suggestions:
1. Consider lowering your mix from 12 mg to 10 mg. You could mix a small amount of VG in a 12 mg mix to approximate 10 mg. I would mix shake and let sit for a couple of hours.
2. Take your wattage down till you are just getting a small amount of vapor. Then dial the wattage up to just where you should get good taste and a decent amount of vapor.
