Safe peanut butter? Should I even worry?

I've been vaping on "100%" VG but I'm wanting to try out DIY, and figured might as well dive in the deep end and try for a peanut butter cup (ice cream), since it's one of my favorite snacks. Addicted to peanut butter cup blizzards from dairy queen, but my waist line is showing it.
I've spent some time working on my google-fu, but I can not seem to find a peanut butter without the bad stuff (custard notes?) except for a diy concoction of 6 flavors, but wasn't really wanting to drop that much money just for the peanut butter when I still need to pick up quite a few other flavors as well.

Is there a "safe" peanut butter that I'm missing somewhere?

Thanx.

P.s. Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it. Please feel free to abuse me with your keyboard as you see fit. :)

Well... You've picked one of the hardest flavors (besides custards) to make diketone free lol. Honestly, I've chosen not to worry about diketones. We don't know much about them and here's some of what we hypothesize: The cases of 'popcorn lung' were from a popcorn flavoring factory where workers were inhaling concentrated diacetyl powder for nearly 10 years. They used the diacetyl to give a butter flavor to the popcorn. Diacetyl is present in cigarettes at supposedly 100X the concentration we are vaping them at and there has never been a reported case of popcorn lung from lifelong smokers.

TFA's peanut butter is fantastic but surely contains diketones. Any suitable peanut butter will likely require them and I haven't seen any 'diketone free' peanut butters. Even if they are reported that way, you should probably verify that the company had proper testing to ensure this, and that they publicly post this information.

Good luck. No matter what flavors you're vaping... It's better than cigarettes.

You bring up a good point of not worrying about them. I don't vape all day anyway, mainly in the evenings or before bed, maybe a few puffs throughout the day.
On the other hand, I've been smoke free for 7 years, and know I did enough damage by staying smoking at 11 and keeping at it for 13 years. I picked this hobby up for something to do with my hands, without going back to the smelly sticks. Don't want to do too much more harm to myself.

Bob, thank you. That is the one I eluded to in the first post, but was trying to follow etiquette that I don't know, so I was afraid to say too much about it. I'm just a little leery of a recipe that involved for my first go. That and the fact I can't find all of the ingredients at the same site trying to save on shipping.

I put a bunch of flavors in a cart at ecigexpress, they seem to be the only ones with everything in stock (the graham cracker I gotta order a 30mL, but it's the same price as paying shipping somewhere else for a smaller size.) Will probably order tomorrow, after I have some time to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. So far, I've got:
  1. Acetyl Pyrazine 5% PG by Signature
  2. Caramel by FlavourArt
  3. Vienna Cream by FlavourArt
  4. Hazelnut by FlavourArt
  5. Brown Sugar Flavor By Signature
  6. Coconut by FlavourArt
  7. Graham Cracker Flavor By Signature
  8. Double Chocolate Flavor By Signature
  9. Vanilla Swirl Flavor By Signature
  10. Toasted Marshmallow Flavor By Signature
1-6 for the pb; 7,8 should turn it into pb cups; should give me the soft serve ice cream flavor; 10 because I was only one flavor away from making s'mores. I may be addicted without starting yet

Didn't mean to include them as links, I copy/pasted the cart rather than retyping it all. Sorry.

ArgusMcJohnsten: You wont go wrong with list from ECF. All flavors listed IMO are classic and used frequently in hundreds of good recipes. You might want to check with ECF to see if your order comes in at under 13oz. (including box/packaging). Over 13 oz and you pay significantly more money in shipping.
You can message me and I will give you a quick opinion/tips on future orders in order to save some money.
sketchness: Your correct. TFA DC clear is not spot on ,IMHO, for me either. Taste is subjective.

I would be grateful for any info., tips and/or tricks you would be willing to share.

Also, is there a different chocolate you would recommend?

Edit: learning a new app, thought this was in a pm not a post. Oh well, I'll leave it [emoji2]

Edit: Grabbed CAP fudge brownie v2. Never hurts to have variety. Just placed order, now have to be impatient and wait.

I heard Loranne Peanut butter is worth a shot, I really wouldn't worry bout the dictone or however you spell it. Your going to die of something :)
Thanx, will keep that in mind if I can't get the other recipe to work.

My house smells like chocolate now. Thought the envelope smelled a little, so I opened it to make sure there were no leaks. Everything's sealed, must have just been the heat causing it. Gotta find some time to do some mixing now.

I didn't see anywhere to leave a positive review, but ecx has quick service, will use them again.
