Hey guys,

I vape for quite a bit of time and I have been using pretty much mech mods only for over a year now. Lately, I have been wondering if I shouldn't get one of those new fancy regulated mods because I have been building lower and lower ohms...

Now first of all I wanted to ask if anyone knows of Safety fuses that will work ot 0.4/0.3? I think Vape2Safety 2cents for safety 1 time use fuse has 7A break so by my understanding anything under 0.7 ohm will automatically trigger it.

Overall I would say all my batteries are greatly taken care of in protective sleeves, the lowest I have gone on a battery in the past 1 year was 3.5V and I still have no idea how I forgot to swap to it. However, I do tend to be pretty careful and watchful. I use LG batteries mostly

Thanks in advance!

No fuse will accept a build that low, they'll all trigger as soon as you fire it. Your best bet (and most likely only bet) would be a regulated mod.

I see, was hoping there are some new ones more technologically advanced or smth.

I just cannot go over how ugly the regulated mods tend to be. Anything like Provari mod that can go up to 75 watts - 100 watts and not look ugly as hell?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there are alot of regulated mods that to me look great. It doesn't just have to be a box mod, there are tube regulated mods and even some really oddly shaped mods, it really depends on your taste.

The real advantage to regulated is that there is absolutely no reason to have to build super low to get the vape you want. You can just simply turn it up.
That being said, if its a box mod mech almost anybody that can solder could add fuses to it. I fuse every box mod I build.

Hmm, so there are fuses that can go that low?

I use a lot of Gus mechs. They have a safety fuse that can go as low as edit: .4

They are absolutely gorgeous mechs. I never build low at all but once i attempted to build low to trip the fuse.
I failed and the fuse still works.

Maybe I did something wrong?

It was a .2 build (too low for a single batt mech, never again)
But maybe the voltage drop was too high? I don't have the equipment to check it.

Nobody has a bad word to say about them. Maybe you should check them out.

.2 is not necessarily too low, it depends on the batteries you have. My ADV has a .2 build.

Cool. My battery info is a bit dated so I may be wrong.
I use Sony vtc4s which are 30s but I think it is recommended on here to only use 50% of the cdr of a battery.
.4 is 21A so I would only go as low as .3 with that batteryin a mech.

I never use pulse ratings and also the cdr will decrease over time. That's why I go with the 50% in a mech

The vtc4 is a 23 amp battery according to Mooch's tests.

Man :( Are they new tests? I thought it was his list where i got the 30 from a while ago? Maybe im wrong or there has been an update.
His original test (might be a retest as well, not sure). I think the LG hb2/4/6 are the only 30 amp 18650s.

Thanks guys. Well I've built a .3 only a couple of times but most of the times use every cell to accommodate a 1.2 so I'm all good.

Is kind of annoying though. I can see the confusion bad ninja but I thought I had read on many occasions that that cell is the only true 30 available. That would have been a year ago now but I didn't think their were any (or many 30s) around. Thanks

By the way, can anybody link me to the chart that mooch posted containing most popular 18650s?
I thought I read it on that chart.

It was thought to be a 30 amp cell for very long. Until Mooch tested it in fact. It's based on a misunderstanding of Sony's tech sheet.
