And what is the advantage of the Hot Spring?

I imagine its due to the fact that copper has a higher conductivity which would result in a lowered resistance & ultimately harder kickin' SB overall. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. When'll these be made available? I can't wait to get ahold of some :D Also wondering if they'll be made to fit the BB too

I made the switch recently, the last few hundred SB I built has them. The V1.1 BB has them already, except 25 of the first ones. I am going to be getting some for Rob to put on the website. The advantage.... the former stainless springs carried about .2-.3 ohms of resistance, the new ones, well zero for all practical purposes. The vapor is a bit warmer and thicker. When I first built these the stainless worked very well. I think the grade of material the company I was using started to suck, so I am using a different company to custom make them for the application. When they appear on Altsmoke.com, I or Rob will let you know. If they are out of stock expect more in a few weeks. :p

Well... maybe not for ALL applications. For the 3.7v with a LR atomizer that could be just the ticket! But I'm thinking about my stacked, protected 3v battery configuration. Right now we know a 510 at 2.2 ohms trips the pcb. We know that 901s and the KR808Ds etc. at 2.9 to 3.1 ohms work great. I'm guessing the trip point is with an atomizer resistance somewhere around 2.6 to 2.7 ohms. If I swapped out .2-.3 ohms resistance with the spring I might be limited to only HV atomizers.....

I think you should send me one of those right away so I can try it out and see if there is a problem :D

I admit being really excited about this modification. I also got the new extended cup BB but it was the first batch with the stainless coil & also got my 2nd SB-black this time a few weeks ago & it also has the steel coil. Sometime after I got the second SB I wrapped a bit of thin copper wire around the coil to simulate what these new coils will do without the hassle. I'm way stoked. Thank you. :D

If you do end up picking up the newer style spring, you may want to hold on to the original. Tis this spring that gives the "mellow" 6v(not recommended) Vape :p

lol, shouldn't be a problem. WHENEVER I get my Omega BB I'm sure it will come with the new spring. Then I'll have two complete BBs and a complete BB PT. The plan is to configure one of the BBs for 3.7/LR vaping and the other to 6v vaping. Gee, good thing you didn't come out with the Omega BB before the new spring :)

Hey Chad,

When do you think you'll have these to Rob to sell separately?

I'd love to add a little more kick to my BB with the 1.8 ohm atty. Also be great with the 510 cartos. :D
