Some of us, given the chance, would never *drive* an automatic transmission. :D

Trouble is, at least 8/10 person that drives a standard does it poorly(at least in my country everywhere I've been)...yet think they have "skills".

But with the newer transmissions, there's not much reasons to have a standard, especially in cities.

And there's always the semi-manuals.. I love my paddles.

Yeah, I'm from England but now live in the States, so it's weird to me that everyone here drives automatics.

I can understand it in a general runabout car, but a huge 4wd truck with an auto transmission is very odd.

And yes, I have witnessed several people driving 'stick' incredibly clumisily and thinking they're really cool :D

Yep. Fifty years ago, it didn't take much talent to get better performance or better mileage with a manual. Today, it's almost impossible. In heavy, stop and go traffic, I can almost smell my clutch burning. On the other hand, my '03 Ford has just shy of 160,000 miles and the original clutch shows no sign of slipping.

Long time, no posts. Regardless I had to comment about common cold resistance I've experienced in the past 3 1/2 years.
Might start with a scratchy throat in the morning, then gone the next day many times over. I haven't come close to a full blown cold in years.
Seems to work for me.

I've had the same experience ... I still get about the same number of them, but they're over much quicker and not nearly as intense. Works for me too :)

If anything, I get slightly more colds. Not that I mind - when I recovered from the first post-vaping cold it was a momentous occasion. First annoying virus in 5 - 10 years that didn't turn into pneumonia.
