What MaryKay said makes a lot of sense. For myself, I'm starting to ween myself off nicotine at the same time as learning how to DIY. If worse comes to worse, I can either DIY or just stop cold turkey. But I'd rather not have to come to that.

I'm learning to DIY, its a bit scary.

And they can't really stop the sale of batteries and atomizers. Or flavoring. The trouble will be getting the unflavored nicotine liquid, won't it?

Yes, the nic will the be problem and atomizers, too. So, grab up as many cartos as you can and don't toss any of them unless they are completely shot.

Stock up on the juice and remember it'll last a few years if kept in a cool dark place and sealed up good.

PG and VG will never be banned, so even if you can't DIY and things get super rough out there, you can cut your juice even if it sacrifices some of the flavor, you'll still get your nic.

Buy some high nic juice so you can cut it.

I recommend anyone who can reduce their nic levels, do so pronto, so you can stretch your juice in the event they ban it. I've gone from 36 and can live with 11 or 12mg now, I like 18 best, but all the high level juices I had, I can now cut in half. I sacrifice some flavor, but I still get rid of the craving and if I add some of the right flavors, I'm good to go.

Even vaping flavorless nic juice cut with vg or pg is an option.

Stock up now.

DIY is fairly easy if you are looking at let's say..banana. It only gets dicey when trying to make mixes like cherry mint tomato..lol Steve sells flavorless nic juice, buy it as high as you can and then you can cut it with P.G. or V.G.

P.G. can be found at some drug stores if you ask the Pharmacist nicely. Or at tractor Supply Stores for about $20 to 25 dollars a gallon. V.G. can be found at some natural food places or as Glycerin (USP). The Glycerin is thicker and may need to be thinned with a few drops of vodka or distilled water.

Steve will soon have colored blank cartomizers, that's a nice way to lay in a few supplies. His E-juice is very well priced and is a good investment, especially for more complex flavors and tobacco flavors. There are ways to DIY tobacco flavors but since I don't vape them, I haven't looked into it.

All this is just for your concideration, hopefully the FDA will just let it go.
For now it seems that they have, but the "I hate tobacco" groups and the "for the kids" nanny types just won't go away. People who meddle in other's business should just go stick their heads back in the ground as far as I am concerned.

The main thing to remember is that while the board is full of wonderful news reports and information, it's also full of scare mongers. Keep your heads and as many people here stated..start stepping down as you feel you can. The lower we go the less we will feel the impact of a ban, should that day come. Just like with analogs..who cares what they are doing with the taxes now?
And thanks for the nice comments..:)

MaryKay, Somehow listening to talk is very calming and reassuring. I feel a little bit better now. Hopefully it will be one of those things that there will be some great evidence of people quitting analogs and health benefits etc to sway things in our direction. I dont know that I will go crazy like building a shelter full of can goods and cartos, but I will keep my head on swivel in case they come knocking on doors or something.

I posed this same scenario awhile back, and, if I recall, Steve said he was working to ensure we would not be affected if a potential ban were to emerge. Now, I can't speak for Steve. I don't know exactly what the plan might be, but he is usually good at staying one step ahead of the game.

On another note, as far as ratpacking juice and/or weaning off of nicotine, I think it's a defeatist attitude that plays into the hands of those who want to control our lives. If the FDA puts its proverbial foot down, it is counting on vapers to scatter and run for cover. We are stronger than this corrupt government. We should stand together and continue to vape no matter what. The power is in numbers, and we have the numbers. Don't stop doing what you love... the FDA does not own you. Stand and fight the enemy with e-cigs blazing...

How can I continue to vape if they have shut down the supply lines and I don't have anything stashed for such an event?

The suppliers will be hit first, they're already having their stuff seized in customs.

In my personal opinion, it is unlikely that they will ban them. Many things are illegal, but people still do it. For example, fake id's are illegal, but still people buy them and have them shipped to their house. Legislators get a kick out of controlling people's lives. Actually, this year a whole bunch of new laws went into effect. In California there is a new law regarding paperatzis who can now be fined up to 1,000 dollars for taking pictures of celebrities engaged in personal recreational activities. In Illinois texting while driving through a school zone is punishable up to 100 dollars. In Texas children under 18 going tanning need an adult present. I watch the news everyday and each day it takes a little more out of me. It's a sad world we live in. But we do have a voice. We need to stand up and fight. If we sit still it will only get worse.

If you get the high nicotine, please wear proper protection. Gloves, long sleeves, protective eyewear and such. You must always mix in an environment that is conducive to handling a toxic substance. There are threads pertaining to this very subject and should be read in their entirety. No animals or kids running around. Have your bottles, funnels and all tools cleaned and ready at hand.
I would say for anything above 60mg, should have this type of caution. IMO.
