Last night I had to be taken to the ER when my left arm just went dead on me. I couldn't move it and when I finally could I had no fine control over it. Long story short, it was a TIA according to the docs. While waiting for test results I was in the examining room and vaping away. When one of the nurses came in he asked about it and was really interested. I told him about vaping and juice costs and all. I told him I had started making my own juice and he got really interested in the ingredients and process and all. Anyway, I kind of jokingly asked him if he had some syringes I could score. When we got ready to leave he gave me a bag of syringes. All of them were luer locks and still in the wrappers. He gave me about a dozen 10 ml, half dozen each of 3 and 5ml ones and asked more about vaping. He is wanting to get his mom to try and get off of analogues. Pretty good night in spite of the TIA.

I wish it would only be a one time thing, but I've had quite a few lately. That's one of the reasons my company put me out to pasture. Now the doctor is saying I have to go on disability. That really sucks. Disability pays less for a month than what I used to make in a week. That was one of the deciding factors to vaping, and to DIY. It's all good though, the wife and I have been in worse shape before and pulled through that.

Ohh man, so sorry to hear! Hope you pull through and get things worked out financially so you can at least stay comfortable!

And of course, hope you can somehow minimize these spells too! Is there any medication that's supposed to help, or is it just something you have to deal with and try to live around/with it?

I've seen a few of your posts about woodworking, hopefully you can get something going in that area to make up for some of the loss in having to quit your job!

I'm still kicking around some DIY work desks. I have a drawing I'm working on but still not finished. The desk hangs on the back of a door, like a closet door so when you close up the desk and close the closet door, everything is out of sight. It will have a swing out flavor rack that will have plexiglass fronts so you can see everything nice and easy and room for syringes, pipettes, and all the goodies we use. Below will be room for big bottles and such. Here's what I've drawn up so far.

I haven't worked on pricing yet. I've been away from woodworking for so long now I need to check prices on materials. There are shelves in the swinging rack that is good for the small bottles like from WL and larger ones on the back of the swing out for larger bottles. I'm even planning on a section for bottles for steeping that can be left closed and in the dark.

So no guesstimate at all? I'm just curious, like maybe 20-40 or 100+

I do see what you mean about flavor bottles could go in the upper shelving areas, but I'm always concerned about those lid inserts in the small bottles, so I try to keep them upright at all times so the flavoring isn't touching the lid insert and possibly breaking it down.

I really like your thoughts on the steeping area, we all need that and it should have a lock on it too! :D

The price would be over $100 for sure. There's a lot of wood and work in these things. The spacing on the racks in this drawing is right at 2" between shelves so they should stand up without problems. I'll have to double check my bottles to make sure it's enough room. I'm also going to draw up and build some "stash boxes" that would be cheaper. I did custom cabinets for multi-million dollar homes for so long that I don't do anything but high end woodworking. I say that with all humbleness I can, but I really do take pride in my work. I can help people cut costs by doing them in plain wood so they can paint or finish the way they want to. I do thank you for your interest and if I see an interest I will register with the board here to prevent anyone from getting upset. I'm just doing a little recon for now to see if it's even worth trying to sell them.

Thanks! Ya, I guess that is a lot of work so I guess that should be expected!

Thanks for the shelf info too, it just looked smaller between each of those to me so I wasn't sure. Would those be removable like slid in and out, so you could skip a rack or two if you wanted by just removing them?

Don't worry about me, I'm just always tight on cash, so was hoping for cheaper is all. But that's just me, I'm sure you will get tons of interest once you are closer to having your final plans done, and once everyone gets to see a finished product or two. I'd definitely be interested, but might have to go with the cheaper option if it was offered. That or I'd have to check out one of your stash boxes just to store flavors or steep juices in, ect.

Hey, no problem asking. That's the only way we learn anything. I plan on going to the lumber yard I used to do business with and see what kind of deal they can cut me. I'll probably build one and take pictures to post here soon to see what kind of interest I get. I've done some of these with different shelf set ups for modelers and they went over like hot cakes. Maybe I can get lucky enough to get some good interest here.

After listening to a bunch of critiques, I've started a redraw. I increased the spacing on the "spice racks" and added plexiglass to the front of the shelves so you can still read the labels and not have to worry about anything falling off. I still need to add the upper section above the rack for the steeping "room". I'm hoping to build one this weekend and getting pics of it.
