So if I wanted to trade juice do I have to become a verified user? Just post minimum of 20 posts and request it? Then I'll have access to swapping is that right?

You don't have to be verified to participate in the PIF swap threads, that's only for the classifieds where you can buy, sell and trade. In the swap thread you can swap unwanted juices with other members in the same boat. Check it out. Oh, and by the way, welcome to ECF! :D

Juice swaps - USA - Please read first post for rules and guidelines

Yep, many many people on here make their own! There are "newbies" to DIY almost daily and many experienced people more than willing to help them learn. The DIY E-Liquid forum is full of terrific info., questions and answers, recommendations, etc.

So far, of all the eliquids I've made, some of my personal favorites are: Caramel Latte, Baked Cinnamon Roll, Key Lime Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie, Tropical Flamingo, Hawaiian Delights, NannerBerry, Strawbery Cream, and Peach Cobbler. All cost me less than $1.50 each, to make a 50mL bottle! I use a fairly high total flavorings %, so it costs more than people who use less flavoring to make theirs.
Wow!! I'm all in! Thank you! I'll check out that thread!

@TheTinMan - I used Bill's Magic Vapor's recipes for both the Lemon Meringue Pie and the Peach Cobbler I make. I just tweaked them alittle bit to my own taste preferences. Here's a link to his Blog on the ECF. Within them you'll find many of his recipes as well as other DIY hints, tips, how to do his 100DT on new recipes, etc.

He has a couple different Peach Cobbler's by the way. The one I used is named for his wife, as it's her favorite one: Jo's Peach Cobbler. Main "tweaking" I did in it was to use regular TFA Peach instead of the TFA Juicy Peach (which has ethyl alcohol in it) in the recipe. Tried the Juicy version the first time, and it was "bitey" IMO, and definitely needed to be evaporated off. Using TFA Peach let me shake and vape it!

Thanks for sharing the link to the blog.

I'm just about to knock up a 10ml tester of the Peach Cobbler now. Think I'll leave out the cinnamon though... I hate cinnamon...

Really excited to have found this place. When I buy juice I generally buy 2 60 mls thinking Ive landed a flavor I'd like only to sometimes find that branching out to new flavors has its drawbacks as to what I'm looking for. I love sweet juice that actually nails the flavor advertised. I guess some makers have a different take on what that means. Love the idea of this community.
Welcome and glad you joined. I DIY and can make my own sweet recipes. Might look for flavors with Honey in them.

Thank you so much. Where is the best place to get top quality flavorings? Ah so even a flavor like sweet strawberry may have honey in it, or your suggesting to seek flavors with honey as part of flavor name? Thanks Bob

"Where is the best place to get top quality flavorings?" ---Could see my comment in:
Who are the best flavor companies not relabelers but makers?

"Ah so even a flavor like sweet strawberry may have honey in it, or your suggesting to seek flavors with honey as part of flavor name?" From: "I love sweet juice that actually nails the flavor advertised.--Scot Spitler,"

Flavors like Honey, some fruits, Meringue may provide a hint/clue as to the sweetness of an e liquid name ("sweet juice").

@Scot Spitler - There are lots of retailers that carry the main name brand flavorings, and don't dilute them or change them, other than rebottling them in smaller quantities than they received them from the manufacturer.

Some that are often recommended here on the ECF are, in no particular order:

Wizard Labs

Bull City Flavors

EcigExpress

One Stop DIY Shop
(They also carry their own proprietary One Stop Flavors and One Stop Blends that are truly wonderful. You just mix 8-12% of any 1 of them with your own PG, VG, and Nic Base and you've got a great mix ready to vape! Many people who DIY use some of those and highly recommend them, too!)

Some commonly used places for quantities of PG and VG by the gallon jug at good prices are:

Bulk Apothecary
Essential Depot
Amazon

Welcome @Scot Spitler! This is a great site that not only answers your question, but as you see, leads you into other aspects of vaping at the drop of a hat. Just reading through posts, you never know what tidbits you're going to pick up........like:

some of my personal favorites are: Caramel Latte

I recently mixed up some OSDIY Lotta Latte blend that turned out fairly good, but just seemed it needed a touch of something else to "get there." I thought about a smidge of marshmallow, but thanks to your tip, gonna try a bit of caramel and see how that goes.

That "Caramel Latte" is the name I gave to a mix that Kimberly (1 of the owners of OSDIY) told me about. It's her ADV and has been for years! She hadn't named it, so I made up a name just to put on my bottles of it.

Since you already have OSDIY Lotta Latte...if you also have some of their Lucky Shot, then you're in business! You just use 1/2 and 1/2 of the LL and LS to make it! Kim said she uses 10% of each one, but for me just 6% of each works and makes my taste buds happy. It's wonderful, and I now vape it about 95% of the time! :)

By golly then, I'm in business! And since I have some of each already mixed up, will mix some together 50/50 for a test run. Thanks!

@Scot Spitler - Well, I can only honestly comment on nic bases I've actually personally tried. So the following are my opinions only. Others may feel differently about them. For each of these 4 below, I bought their 100mg/mL Nic base in 100% VG, because I vape a ratio of 60VG/40PG in my eliquids I make. It was suggested to me when I first started DIY to buy it in either 100% VG or 100% PG for ease of calculations for an eliquid recipe, and I have found it easier. Was also suggested to get it in whichever was the higher of the 2 in my final ratio...the VG or the PG.

If you get it in other than 100% VG or PG...be careful that you allow enough PG "wiggle room" to use enough flavorings some recipes may call for, since most are PG based. Some who buy their Nic Base in a 80VG/20PG for example...may have difficulty with using the % of flavorings they want to...without it changing their end ratio.

Nude Nicotine Nic Base - I bought the regular Nude Nicotine, not any of the verisons in the fancy bottles or with the caps you can draw out of, etc. I found it to be the smoothest, most tasteless Nic Base I've bought. It's also the most expensive of the 4 I've bought. (They are having a 30% off sale starting midnight tonight thru the 28th I believe. Coupon Code is POLITICALTHANKSGIVING to use at Checkout.)

Wizard Labs Nic Base - This is my next favorite because it's really hard to tell any difference at all...between it and the Nude Nicotine, and it costs less.

RTS Vapes Nic Base - This again, is very hard to tell apart from the 2 above, but definitely costs less than either of them. They have sales sometimes, with their Nic being $40/liter! First time customers also get 10% off their order, too, I believe. Details are on their website. (Almost forgot this: They're having a Black Friday sale, too: 15% off , Nov 23 - 28. Code is: TURKEYDAY15)

My Freedom Smokes Nic Base - This is the only 1 of the 4 I've bought that I definitely won't buy again. It was normally $50/liter and was on sale for $40, so I decided to try it. First, they shorted me 180mL of that liter! Besides being short that much of a liter...I also didn't know exactly what those 180mLs might be! They could have been all VG, so the Nic content would've been much higher. Or they could've been the Nic, and/or some Nic and some VG...and they couldn't tell me what it might have been! Customer service regarding it also took 2 weeks to get it straightened out. Their Nic Base was also definitely "peppery" tasting to me. Many have said they like it best for making tobacco flavored eliquids, because they like the pepperyness in it then.

So, those are my thoughts about the various Nic Bases I've tried. I'm sure others will come along with their own opinions on others, as well as probably on the ones above, too.
