Cornea.
My eye doctor said that I only go to see her when I have an eye injury. I replied with, "I have 20/20 vision and that's why I haven't had a checkup." She came back with "well it's 20/50 in that eye today!"
I hate getting crap in my eyes but it does give me an excuse to go see the pretty eye doctor so that's the bright side to a bad situation.
I've gone to see her a couple times for metal shavings embedded in my cornea and this time it was from a tree branch.
It was so sensitive to light that I couldn't open that eye unless I was in near total darkness. The eye doctor put a contact in that eye so my eyelid wouldn't rub the scratch and now the vision is better and I can open my eye so It's getting better. She told me I roughed it up pretty good this time and told me that the rust ring from that last piece of metal was almost gone.

I do wear goggles when I'm grinding now. Glasses didn't cut it the first time. Glasses and a plastic face shield didn't cut it the second time.
The scratch that prompted this thread was actually from a limb on a bush that I didn't notice when I bent over to get a golf ball. Who would have thought you could get an eye injury playing golf. That taught me the importance of staying in the fairway.

Glasses plus a face shield seems like overkill, you gotta watch those fairway lining trees, they are evil :D

Goggles and eyglasses are a rough combination in a workshop, especially in warm weather. I fogged mine so bad that I decided seeing my fingers was more important than those sweaty, foggy goggles. Investing in a good sturdy pair of polycarbonate lens glasses was a good tradeoff. My goggles just weren't vented enough to let cool air flow.

Sunglasses on a golf course probably aren't a bad idea. At least they would deflect a branch.

The only time my goggles really fog up is when I'm out in the sun sweating.
I use these glasses Jackson Nemesis Safety Glasses with Black Frame and Indoor-Outdoor Lens and they don't have a fogging issue. They're comfortable too.
I am a lot more aware of branches when I go after a golf ball now. I haven't had to worry about them the last couple rounds though because I fixed my grip issue and I'm staying in the fairways now. Well, most of the time.
