Hello again,

Since I've had my Reo Grand it's been an up and down experience. I decided to take it apart a bit today, and while I was reassembling it I noticed something odd; the bottom end of the screw that holds the top plate on top seems to be damage. Even when clamping the plate to the top, the screw does not go in all of the way. Is this a conventional screw size I could pick up at a store like Home Depot? I tried googling but didn't really come up with much.

were you just curious? lol.

i've never bothered to open up the Reo or my laptop or my alarm clock, lol.

i'm sorry i can't suggest anything except to maybe take the screw to a hardware store and try to replicate it.

Not so much curious as I've been trying to fix some issues my Reo has been having firing since it got here on Wednesday. Starting to be quite the headache...

Edit: the screw is coming to sharp end point (it should be flat) and the hole in the Reo almost look blown out. http://imgur.com/a/Nkrzh

I'm under the impression that theres not a whole alot of tinkering needed for a Reo except to keep it clean. In the event that you have a Reo that doesn't work, you can have it repaired by Reosmods.

Try not to get frustrated, your A7 was the cause of your first malfunction and it seems opening it up might have created another isssue for you.

Look at the classies... Reos don't last cause there in high demand for their reliability. Good luck.

You need to send a PM to Robert. Those screws strip quite easy. Not so much the screw itself but the hole in the back of the REO where it is going. There have been warnings on screwing that in too tight and also trying to get the screw to go in crooked.

You did have a spring collapse. Did you change out the spring? If you look at the underside of the firing button is it melted?

It is a shame that your atty caused a short. It is something that can happen at any time.

Contacting Robert instead of trying to keep fixing it would be the best thing to do.

The spring was changed out and it had been working flawlessly for most of the day.

I really don't believe I tightened in the screw too tight, but if I did then I did I guess. I guess the reason I went Reo is because I thought I'd be able to easily repair it myself had anything gone wrong. I'm not knocking it; when it's been running, it's been a wonderful vape. I love being able to drip with an attached tank; brilliant concept.

Edit: Took your advice though and shot Rob a message.

Good on sending the PM. I have a lot of REO's, both metal and the woods. I had a spring collapse with a A7. With two years of having REO's I have not had one that broke and had to go to Robert. Your decision to go with a REO because of easy repair is correct. With the metal REO's it is simple.

Robert will help you out. One of the things that comes with a REO purchase is excellent customer service. Hope all is cleared up soon for you!

I have the same problem with my Grand; I rebuild it with the kit but there was missing that screw ... So my black piece of plastic is loose and move a little. I can live with that because the battery old on place the whole thing and my Grand is working fine. If there is a solution please can you share here ..I think more other reonauts will be interested! Thanks Rob!

The screw isn't part of the rebuild kit . I can supply anyone with a new screw if they need one . Unfortunately the screw for the grands is not a stock screw you can buy anywhere
