Okay gotta question.

I have a saber touch PT, I have a 12v/2a powersupply. A genesis atty evertthing was working great... but it had not been cleaned for several weeks. So I took it apart, cleaned, burned wick and recoiled...2.5 ohms which is the same as the CE2 in my MAP's. started vaping @ 3.7v which is my preferred voltage. and vapor was very poor ... used meter to check for short, nothing. put on underload meter and checked V...3.71V, put on atty and vaped, keeping an eye on meter....3.65....3.53....screen blank. It does not do this in Battery mode... So I was thinking that the 12v power supply might be bad. So I try my 2.5 ohm CE2 in the old MAP and it works fine ...even when I power hit it like a j__nt, this would induce the power failure when the genesis atty was on it. Any Ideas???????

Voltage (E): 3.71
Current (I): 1.48
Resistance (R): 2.5
Power (P): 5.5

Is your coil glowing evenly? That is always the first check. Also I have found I need a higher voltage with my genesis than I do with standard carto's. One big thing I run into a lot is that even though everything was working great I still get intermittent shorts on the wick and I need to play with the coil a little to get them to go away.

Beautiful, urquidezj. So the positive wire, I presume, comes up through the center pipe and is connected to both coils, with the 2 posts acting as negative?
Are 2 vertical wicks better than the single curved wick? How much shorter is that than the regular v3?
Looks great, though!

edit: also, that would not technically be a "dual coil" right? It would be more along the lines of vaping from two separate ecigs at the same time? What are the pros and cons to this setup? Obviously there's probably more vapor, but does it drain the battery faster? Same watts as it would be with a single coil, just 2 of them?

Center pin is the positive two shorts are negs. Havent tried it so i dont know. It is showing 1.1 ohms. I dont know if this is safe though. I dont know how much shorter it is. I didnt measure it just eyeballed, cut and press. Just need the air holes. Hopefully someone knows if not ill have to wait and find out before i drill.

I'm no expert, but one thought I had was to dril 2 very small holes so you can put some thin tubing that goes down near or, maybe even bent, underneath the coils, so the airflow will pass right over the coils to the mouth piece. Or maybe even put the 2 holes in the polycarbonate tubing itself with the tubes going directly under the coils. Might not look as elegant, though, and it might be difficult getting the cap on and off without hitting the coils.

It depends on if you want one coil or two.....tight or loose draw. I would start with just one 1mm (or so) hole, and if the vapor isn't enough....then go to two. I wish mine would have turned out that good! I may have to talk you in to assembling mine like yours and polishing it for me! Looks fantastic! (mine is already in mini form....just have to polish and assemble) I was waiting to put mine together trying to find the right parts to make my center pin like yours. I can't turn my own connector. :(

If you are going to use a single straight coil coil....go with one. The reason there are two in the original scubas was for the curved wick and there wasn't enough airflow....so it ended up at two holes 180 from each other so there would be air coming across the wick from both sides to increase vapor and cut down TH.

Urq, it looks impressive in it's smallness. I would suggest two holes in the side opposite each other aimed at the coils positioned in the lower third of the coil. I would start with .8mm each and if the draw is too tight then up to 1mm or 1.2mm. The diameter is a slight difference but the volume that passes through is quite a bit higher. My personal favorite is 1.5 in, 2mm out, but I use non conventional driptips.

Also I assume two vertical wicks not the curved single, but that is how I see you represented with the coils too.

Using single straights on each side. Gonna see if i can make my pro v fire it lol. It holds 3.5 mls now so not that short not that small. What size should i cut the wick im not gonna use isolators on the holes just gonna oxydize the entire mesh. Any one using it like this to get a rough estimate?

Did the wicks, 3.5mm by 3.8mm did six wraps on each wick. Holes i put in, 1/32 was way too small, cant even take a hit without choking and very little vapor comes out, no enough air. Im going up to a 3/64 tomorrow. Vid on mini don 16340 batt.
Its a beast need to get the airflow right lol

So i tried different hiles and cant get it right. Its little to no vapor at all alot if vapir pumps out when uncapped, i cap it and just get a monster th no vapor. So asdaq you are saying you do a 1.5 mm hole and a 2 mm hole on the other side? I unhooked one coil and have one hole uncovered which is a 1/16 hole its too lose for me but its the only way i dont get a harsh hit.
