The good news.

The Bad news.

I ended up getting charged twice for the shipping because they had to split the order between the package of O-Rings and the Polycarbonate Tubing, along with a $7.00 extra handling fee because UPS could not put the tubing on a conveyor. :censored:

Good tip on the shorter cuts of tube - I've been getting hit with those 'extra shipping' charges too. I had one order that came in 2 tubes and a box - shipping was outrageous. I ordered a 2' peice of polycarb and it came in the box with other items... that's probably the longest they'll ship on that.

Ok good news!
Money has come through from my PayPal ...
MORE GOOD news, the parts have been ordered!
Now the waiting begins....

So I was just thinking about this for some reason, but what is the lowest ohms (for the coil) that would be achievable with this? You know because the post being at a fixed position. Im wanting to do like a 1.7 ohm.

No problem, I have 5 wraps of kanthal 32 and am running right at 2 ohms. So 1.8 is easily achievable.

Am I the only one who is clueless to all this tech talk, LOL? I hope when the time comes, Dan can provide a "Scubagen for Dummies" to us "mod challenged" folks aka me.

I think there is a decent mix of experience levels in the coop. If you are less experienced it will probably pay off to let a little time go by after the parts get shipped out and some of the more experienced should post photos, advice, maybe video, etc. No time limit here!

Good advice. I will probably have to. I don't have or know how to use a dremel or a soldering iron. It looks easy when other people use them, LOL. There's going to be a learning curve.

Hey here are a couple pics of mounting the positive leg. Notice I did use the M1.6 nuts that I processed. They are working great!

So even with the nails, you still need the carto center post? Nail inside the carto center post, center post inside of the pen tube?

That or some kind of tube... I used the excess from the 510 Clearomizer connector. I just cut off the excess tube and used that for the insert. Recycle what ya got :)

Get a Dremel (or cheapo Dremel) ASAP they are great fun - practice on bolt etc
As for soldering I did see this link on another thread (wire glue)
ThinkGeek :: "Wire Glue" Conductive Glue

Don't know how good it is
