Loads of condensation here, it's kind of irritating to me, but the other factors like the flavor and quality of the vapor far outweighs the nuisance of having to wipe it several times a day.
Well, I'm giving up on the nails for a while. I can't get them to fit in the tube wi the wire and solder. Wasn't crazy about doing it that way to begin with...but since I'm not that great at modding, I figured I would try. I have been trying for a while now, and can't make it work so I give.
Back to the drawing board.....see if I can find a better way. Going to look for some 1/8th od threaded insulators and try threaded rod.....
Well got the DSU5 top cap made today, one down 3 more pieces to make.

Well 3 pieces turned and one to go. Still need to drill the air channels and tap and die the 3/4 32 tpi when the tap and dies come in.

Can't you thread that with your lathe?
That looks really good, especially for a first run prototype

I need the link to the springs, nuts, and nails. My ACE doesn't have the nuts, so springs and nuts I will have to order....I know I can find the nails at Lowe's.
Going to start again today and do things a little different....maybe it will work out.
Guess I was just looking at it all wrong....trying to do exactly what was shown instead of going for the same end result. I didn't have all the same tools....so I just changed the technique....and got the the results I needed. So the posts are in...finishing the rest of the build....

You know, you raise a good point. I found that getting things positioned properly for ME to work comfortably on those posts was important as well. Send me a PM after you get through one, I have some extra parts I can share with you for building out the rest of your many scubagens....
I was having problems getting the bend in my rolled wicks...always having it kink. My wife is a seamstress and told me I had to cut the screen on the bias (45 degrees from the grain). Did that and never get any kinks in my mesh now. I can bend it in any way I want and never kinks. I think it may wick a little better too or that may just be that I had kinks before??
