search engines SUCK!

OK the search engine on this site and i are not getting along today.

i am searching for a thread that talked about a USB connector. and shorting a couple of wires in the connector. and charging (I THINK)

but i don't know because i cannot find it.

since 8 this morning i have been searching using various words, combinations of words. DONT use 'USB' btw it wont work, it's too common...blah blah blah. quotes, no quotes, CAPITAL LETTERS, AND I CANNOT SEEM TO FIND IT.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thread contained some useful information. i would like very much to re-read it. and learn something.

haha, I feel your pain. I have trouble finding threads I have found. A little tip is if you can remember who posted in it then you can look at that users profile. Even better if you know who started the thread.

If you are using the engine at the top of the page, please don't. Use the google search block at the bottom of the page. I just located a page that I looked at last year by typing in a couple of words I remembered from it.

Dedicated charger mode:
A simple USB charger should short the 2 data lines together. The device will then not attempt to transmit or receive data, but can draw up to 1.8A, if the supply can provide it.

the other issue i had was the passthru can be spelled pass-thru, pass-through, pass through, passthrough, AND passthru.
take your pick and SEARCH grrrrrrrrrrrrr
