Who knows what's "best"? That word's so slippery it's practically meaningless.

If money and scarcity were no object, I'd choose a Caravela. Beauty wise, that thing just blows everything else out of the water. (I can't quite imagine hauling such a magnificent object around while doing farm chores, though, so this is an entirely theoretical point.)

Beyond perfectly subjective stuff like that, I think "best" depends on what you want to put on top of it, and that'll take some trial and error to discover. If, for instance, you eventually find that you really get a kick out of building incredibly elaborate sub-ohm coils, you'll doubtless want something very different from what the anti-tinkering, no-nonsense vaper wants. (At one point I thought I'd always love carto tanks, so I invested in very snazzy glass ones. Now they're all sitting in a box somewhere. Go figure.)

And then there's this thing . . . LOL . . . I think I sort of love it.

The most important statement that the OP made was withstand the test of time.

I think that would point you towards the Provari as well.

Drop it? It works. It gets wet, it works. Easy to use? Yes. Best vape I've ever had? YES.

Can't go wrong with the American made Provari and EXCEPTIONAL customer service!

If anything happens to it in the 1st year, they will fix it. For an additional $25 you can get a 2nd year warranty added.

After the warranty to fix anything that goes wrong is extremely well priced!

The Provari truly withstands the test of time.

Buy it once, call it a day.

As far as a tank, with the ease of use that you described, you would probably want to go with a ProTank II.

If you don't mind spending a few extra minutes to learn and fill a carto tank, then I would suggest IBTanked for the best Tank vape you've ever had!

If you don't mind learning a few steps of how to easily build a micro coil using cotton wick(easier than it sounds and takes a bit of practice)- you can purchase the KayFun Lite Plus. It is the best vaping experience for a tank in the $100 range, only catch of course is you have to build the coil, but the 30 minutes you put into building the coil, will far excel the amazing vaping experience you gain.

I'm sure all of the above was probably mentioned, but hey I couldn't read through 9 pages! Haha.

Welcome to ECF!

I really dig your style, Kaytu.

It seems to me it is all-too-easy to get swept-away, enamored and starry-eyed in admiration of PV's based on aesthetics (and my God, are they gorgeous!), where price is based not so much on superior design, but exotic/expensive metals, materials, solders, etc (I'm looking at you, mechanical :p). This may be an egregious over-generalization, but remember I'm new to this, and it's all my superficial impressions, so, please be gentle if you feel the need to disabuse me of these misconceptions!

But, Kayta, your advice seems sensible and level-headed. Prudent. My own personal preference: I'm not at all interested in the vanity aspect or 'bling' factor -couldn't care any less about that. Down the road, who knows?

So, at this point (and I'm likely speaking prematurely) I'm leaning towards:

Innokin iTaste MVP V2 (box shaped) or

iTaste VV V3 or, of course, the

ProVari™ Starter Kit with Tank V2.5.

But, I'm still reading everyone's responses and commenting as I go, so who knows?

One thing is for certain: Whatever I decide, I'm going to take a few days and let the decision percolate, rather than make an impulse 'buy it now!' move (oh-so-easy to do with on-line shopping). However, I was all over, snagging up some Halo Tribeca at 20% off! That was a no-brainer!

MVP, VV 3.0 for me! And all self contained, no extra batteries to carry... Leaves more room for juices & tanks!!

Thank you!

I just Googled Kato, and it turns out that they make all kinds of beautiful wee box mods - all apparently gorgeously crafted. They really are lovely. I couldn't find anything in English, though.

Do you know anything more about them, DrillRX? And do thy really cost 3,000 bucks? I'm afraid I'm not in the Price Is No Object category.

At the end of the day and with your experience level I'd say get a provari. You will be hard pressed to find a better vv mod. The mvp v2.0 is a nice vv/vw mod but I find the o-ring around pin on the 510 connector to be a little loose and from time to time when you screw a tank on a little too tight it will push said pin down and you will need to get something small down in there to pry it up. Not a huge deal but it's there. A good mechanical mod will not have any of those problems because both the negative and the positive battery posts are adjustable screws. Go with the h cigar nemesis clone. From what I've seen there as close to the real thing as you can get. Throw in a kick and voila variable wattage. Take out the kick and using it as mechanical when you want to use a sub ohm coil or whatever down the road. You may not think about things like this right now but when you can lower the pin in the 510 connection and flush mount any tank you put on your mod and just use the adjustable air flow built into the mod it starts making a lot more sense and you start thinking why can't they all be like this? I believe the clone costs about 50-60$ and everything I've heard about it is good. I just figured why not throw the real deal in the mix since he did say money was no object.

I want to say thank-you to everyone who replied to my quite loaded question with excellent information, advice, and overall mentoring. I'm still overwhelmed and full of gratitude for all the gracious, informative, and most of all, friendly responses. I can't say enough positive things about this community. All of you make me feel welcome, and I've found friends and a home on the e-cig forum. I'm especially surprised by the high standard of netiquette and civility displayed, even when many of you had quite different opinions.

If I seem to be a over-doing it with my praise, it's because, to put it mildly, I've had some bad experiences on other forums -I'm sure many of you can relate.

So, that's really it.
:)

Thanks a bunch, Guys 'n Gals.

:)
(As a side note, E-cigs are such a burgeoning business that there are numerous e-cig shops (not tobacco shops, mind you) in my area, and I live in relatively po-dunk area -the absolute Southeastern most point in Mississippi, USA, on the coast. Anyway, they even carry Innokin, Kanger mini-protank V2, Mech Kits, iTaste, Vamo V2, and other good stuff at competitive prices to the big online retailers.)

(lastly, the topic is a lyric from Cee-Lo's remake of 'Forget You,' where he praised firefighters who saved his mother from a serious house fire. Point of interest: she was actually a volunteer firefighter, too. Check out the vid on youtube if you wanna see something uplifting and very cool. :2cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKQc7zFcCD0

It's takes one to know one and it's very obvious you fit in very well here at ECF.
Cheers and regardless of your choice we're all rootin' for ya.
Best of Luck.
