I expect someone to come out of the woodwork to say his coil last him the whole year(but he forgets to mention he use it once per week)

Both my wife and I easily get 1 month or more out of a coil. When we do replace them, they still work but the airflow is usually just tight by then due to build up. Since we know what we are doing now, we do not have burnt coils anymore. We may get a dead coil from time to time however.

Sure, there are people here who rotate through an assortment of tanks / flavors that may have some that go much longer due to limited use, but I would expect that in this situation, so why get upset over a possibility?

If you honestly want help, you might consider dropping the offensive / angry / negative tone in here. Also try to answer the questions people ask, they only ask because they need the info in order to help you.

On the other hand if you simply want to rant/vent, then just say so at the beginning of a post so we will know not to bother trying to help with a problem you do not want help with. There are other people who actually want help and advice that we could be replying to instead, if that is the case here.

Happy Holidays!

Now that that's been said, here's how to properly wick a Kanger coil: Put drops of liquid down the top of the coil until you see the cotton in the juice windows get saturated. This will take a while, probably 5 minutes or more doing a couple of drops at a time and letting them soak in before adding a couple more (Kanger's advice of 4 drops is worthless). Once the cotton in the windows is wet, put a drop on each of the windows. Then put your tank together and fill it. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. THEN, start at 12 watts and only vape at that power level for 5 minutes. Then bump up to about 15 and vape at that level for 5 minutes. Then bump up to 17.5 watts for 5 minutes, then up to 20 watts. If you want to go higher, go slowly. If at any time you start to taste a burned hit, back off. Kanger coils may say they can handle up to 30 watts, but they rarely can. They weren't made to chain vape high VG juices at high wattages for very long. Anything over about a 4 second pull when chain vaping will risk dry hits. If you want something more than that, get a better tank.

Oh, and that peppery taste you get, that's the nicotine. NOT a burnt hit.

Hi All

As a newcomer I bought a ego one e cig
It worked well for around 3 days (around 5 hour vaping per day)
Afterwards it gave horrible burnt taste with serious side effects for the throat and lungs next days (felt like I smoked 2 pack of cigarettes when waking up)
I changed the device to the next best thing (kanger subox mini) 0.5 ohm , 23 watts with the hope that the coil will not burn In a few days (they are expensive as hell at 4 euro) ...well looking on newcomers forum I already see there is a thread who complains about kanger subox mini burned coils.
Google it I see this is a serious issue with e cigs very frequent. As a newcomer to vaping this completely ruined my experience and I am disappointed with the manufacturers quality (99% of them Chinese btw)

This is a serious issue (with some health effects issues). I think the industry needs to clear its [edited] or even better be regulated by big tobacco companies...I thought this was evil at the beginning but feel the unregulated stuff going on will be the death of vaping

Also I hope the fake reviewers on the internet should be ashamed for their fake reviews on faulty products
WHY NEVER TOLD ME THAT THE 0.5 ohm coil on EGO ONE last 1 day?!?! (confirmed by manufacturer)...ONLY ONE reviewer revealed this ...scam... That disgusting from the vaping industry and I hope some serious regulation takes place.

There are three reasons why they burn.

1. Too much cotton crammed into the coil and the capillary action of the wick can't keep up.

2. People using too much power.

3. People chain vaping and again the capillary action of the wick can't keep up.

I've been using Kanger coils for three years, and haven't had any problems. I currently use Kanger Vertical coils .5 coils which last me several weeks per coil. I pay $13 for a 5 pack at Sweet-vapes. These coils must be primed before first use, or they will burn. Add at least 10 drops of ejuice to the coil before using it.

Try a Nautilus Tank, and an IStick 30w. New Vapers don't always do well on Subohm devices. But the Kanger Subohm Vertical OCC coils must be primed with 10-15 drops of juice before use. Then let the tank sit at least 5 minutes before using. Make sure you buy authentic Kanger products, too.

I expect someone to come out of the woodwork to say his coil last him the whole year(but he forgets to mention he use it once per week)

Actually, using stock Smok Tech brand coils I can get about a fortnight of use. I vape modestly. That means I go through around 1.75ml a day. After two weeks or so, I take out old coil to soak in vodka. I put in new stock coil and vape on.

I let the old coil soaks about a fortnight, gently shaking the container every so often. Then, I rinse with hot water and do what is called dry burning. This is putting the coil on the base and attaching to mod, pulsing the fire button. I do this until the excess water burns off, it steams visibly.

Then, I examine the coil removing debris with a cotton swab if needed. The coil is usually nearly good as new. The newer coil by now is an old coil, it goes to vodka bath. So, two coils and I go around 4 months with each coil lasting about two months respectively.

Never had any real issue with burnt coils, or bad ones coming stock. I have had maybe two bad stock coils in as many years. Yes, quality control can sometimes lapse. The people working the factories are well, human beings too. Everyone has a bad day once in a while. Poop happens and it is nothing to get bent out of shape over.

I agree with many here. You need to learn to use your equipment, learn to ask questions more intelligently, learn to be patient. You need patience with yourself as much as with vaping. You're refusing this and disrespecting others by being argumentative. We'll help but we expect you to help yourself as well. Part of that requires you learning, thinking, being patient. You do not want that, sorry we cannot help.

Excuse me, I've vaping to enjoy.

ABSOLUTELY. Many vapers don't have a CLUE what they're doing.

They put a drop or two on the wick and think it is primed. The wick needs to be COMPLETELY SATURATED. Meaning so wet with juicd it almost drips out of the wick.

Another thing they are so excited to blow clouds they turn it up full power. No wonder they get dry hits!

Come on guys, be nice to the new guy. I roasted many coils when I started in the space of a couple days. It takes time to master this stuff. But since I have I've always gotten an average of around 2 weeks out of any coil I've used from the little evod ones to the kanger dual and VOCC coils. Then my nautilus ones sometimes last even longer. I could even get a couple weeks out of the iSub G coils, and they're pretty much just shiny ....ing garbage. I just got a new subtank mini and was concerned because I've read about people not being able to get the coils to wick thick juice and I pretty much got this thing for OHW juice @ 80VG. But I primed it, the juice wicked so fast it looked like it got sucked into a ....ing black hole. But I've learned from experience that when you're priming you gotta keep putting drops on until they just sit there and don't disappear. And even then, drop a couple through the top part just to make sure. If it doesn't gurgle a bit on the first few hits, then you didn't prime it right IMO lol. Then like others have said, start at low power. I started my subtank coil at nautilus power levels of like 10w just to get it going then I've slowly worked it up to 22w over the course of this tank. And I think I may have gone up too fast.
Also make sure you don't vape faster than it can rewick the juice! This is important especially with thicker juices, pretty much anything above 70VG. You also have to take into account the size of the holes in the coil for the juice. I looked at an ego one myself the other day, the holes are tiny. Like smaller than the ones on the nautilus, which struggles with some of my juice. That's why i went with the subtank, the wicking holes are monstrous. I can tell just by looking at the ego one that you're going to have to pace yourself and not chain vape with that thing.
Be patient, try not to chuck the thing through the window or into a wall. You'll get there. We've all been there whether we admit it or not. lol

I agree with you we should be patient with Newbies. However when a Newbie won't listen and wants to vape the way she wants, and won't be patient and LEARN how to use her gear. I get a little frustrated.

I am amazed how can these member forums be so evil as to recommand ego one as newbie kit. The best is kanger sub ox mini
WIth the wattage control is so easy to avoid all newbie mistakes to get burned hitts
Just say to newbie to use 15 watts for 0.5 ohm and they are good to go... JESUS

I don't recommend either the Ego One or the Subox Mini for beginners.

Both have big problems

1. The Ego One battery is one dimensional. The Ego One coils have tiny holes for wicking the juice. If you chain vape the wicking CANNOT keep up.

2. Subox Mini. I like the mod very much.

The mini tank comes with an RBA for starting building. I used version 1. Version 1. Had way too much air for for mouth to lung inhales. My friend said she felt like she was drowning from the big vapor and big airflow.

I recommend they start off with the Subox and get a Nautilus Mini. It has a true MTL draw. Whrn they want more airflow break out the Mini tank.

Nobody recommended it to you. You said you had one and had a problem with it. So everybody tried to help you solve the problem.

It may or not be the best. It works, like everything else, when you know how to use it properly.

Just say to newbie to use 15 watts for 0.5 ohm and they are good to go...

15 watts is not ideal for a .5Ω thread, but if it's working for you, enjoy.
