Meet Me in St Louie Louie
since the other thread I'm looking at seems to originate in Canada .. I'll participate here ..

I guess I can see both sides .. forced morality seems wrong in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave .. at the same time, if in fact kids copy celebs of any sort, then maybe there should be some standard .. IMO, it's the parents responsibility to teach right / wrong / do / don't .. but then again, many don't seem to want to go thru the effort .. so blame it on the celebs when your kid picks up a bad habit of any sort ..

Perhaps the Union can negotiate and offer to have the players refrain from using "chaw" and spitting while playing, but make sure that players can still use discreet products such as snus and dissolvables. This would be a reasonable compromise, since by using the discreet products they won't be "setting a bad example" but will be able to retain their concentration and pay attention to the game!

While they're banning chew, they ought to ban gum to. Rots your teeth and causes dental expenses. After all it's for the kids and I don't want my dental insurance to go up because of someone else's bad habit. Do I sound like an ANTZ now?

Naw. You need internal inconsistency and much more outrageous speculation. These are expressed as "concerned that," "possibility that," etc. For example, why stop at tooth problems? Why not speculate that gum chewing might cause heart attacks and cancer? After all, there is no proof that gum does NOT cause these problems, eh?
