A TEST FOR 'OLD' KIDS
I was picky who I sent this to. It had to be those who might actually remember. So have some fun my sharp-witted friends. This is a test for us 'old kids'! The answers are printed below, but don't cheat.

01. After the Lone Ranger saved the day and rode off into the sunset, the grateful citizens would ask, Who was that masked man? Invariably, someone would answer, I don't know, but he left this behind. What did he leave behind? ________________.

13. In 1971, singer Don MacLean sang a song about, 'the day the music died.' This was a tribute to ___________________.
14. We can remember the first satellite placed into orbit. The Russians did it. It was called ___________________.
15. One of the big fads of the late 50's and 60's was a large plastic ring that we twirled around our waist. It was called the ________________.

I also stumbled on this thread, by accident, when I was searching "stall". I want to find the op that made the statement that got me off by bum and ordering my first e-cig. I owe her a lot. Meanwhile, even though I jumped ahead to the last page, this looks like a wonderful thread. I also have CRS - mms, why can I never remember Buddy Holly but Sputnik is no problem?!

And Rar, I remember having to split that popsicle with my brother....oh, what a treat when dad splurged for that drumstick!

There was nine kids at home so we sort of made our own popsicles from Kool aid. We thought we'd gone to heaven when the real deal was available.

Nine? oh my, that's a lot of sharing. :) I do have a kid kool aid story. I didn't care for the stuff but a bunch of us decided to have a stand to make money. I remember mine was lime and mom made it for me. Everyone that tasted my mix made an awful face and told everyone else not to buy it. Finally one adult said there wasn't enough sugar in it. I didn't make hardly any money while my friends had pocketfulls. I had to take my nearly full pitcher home. :( Turns out, my ever-frugal mom only used 1/3 cup sugar instead of a cup. Dad put me in charge of kool aid making after that. I think he was embarrassed because the whole neighborhood knew. lol silly memory

The problem with making my own popsicles (once I discovered kool aid was pretty good with sugar) was the ice cube tray. How can you enjoy a popsicle that is square? That's just not right.

There was a plastic popsicle maker someone had. I'm recalling that the popsicle was half melted by the time we could wiggle it out of there. Or, it fell off the little stick piece. lol I can't remember making pudding pops...

My worse ice cream memory is a picnic with a hand-crank ice cream maker. Oh my, all the adults raved how good homemade ice cream was. So all us kids were offered the fun of cranking. and cranking. and cranking. Then, the big moment came....a little paper cup with homemade ice cream! It was icy and boring. I still shy away when someone says "and we're going to make homemade ice cream!" lol I'll take one of those frozen Daiquiris, please. :)

Happy July 4th everyone!
