Would you replace to term "E-Liquid" with "Nicquid", and if so, what spelling would you use?

Would you use this term? How would you spell it?

  • Yes, I would spell it as "Niquid" (No C)

Nicquid doesn't work for me. I just say juice but then I don't have any kids to worry about. Parents that vape should be educating their children about e-liquid/juice so they know it is not something that they should drink. My problem is with the words ecig, pv, electric cigarette etc. That's what really needs a new name. ecigs need a name that is totally non cigarette related. just my 2 cents.

Pv is fine.

But I agree with eventually eliminating the word cigarette eventually.

Personally I like e-liquid.

great concept... i too had a concept i recently reposted ...not to hi-jack your thread but here it is...

i tried to start a revolution a while back on ECF and have members spread the word to term our "ecig/electronic cigarettes" as PV's= personal vaporizers ... to rid the stigma and association to cigarettes. hopefully one day it'll catch on...then the govt would be less likely to associate tobacco laws in conjunction with PV's.

i call my device a vaporizer.

I agree with PV over e-cig, it's more PC to me.

As for Nicquid, I dislike the association with nicotine for PC reasons as well as it isn't correct for 0 nic vapers.

Can you come p with something more like Vapor + Liquid = VapQuid?

That should confuse the public enough to quit bugging us about what that steam we are exhaling actually is. :)

Just keep it simple e-gig or PV refill liquid. No Nic in the name since not all juice has nicotine. I mean Nic Juice is fine for those that have nicotine but, not those that don't. here it's pretty old fashioned for the most part, people cal lit smoke juice or refill juice. But then, most see e-cigs as just another way to smoke, not a means of quitting, just a way to minimize the smell in their house and car and, if smokers visit an e-cig user, they don't ask if it's okay to smoke in the house- they just smoke; it's assumed that it's fine as the owner also smokes, just not the kind of cigs you need a lighter for is all.

Kinda funny -- I call my vaporizer a device. And I use the term liquid. e-liquid has a hokey ring to me (as the liquid is not electronic), and nicquid (I like the c) sounds like a drug (but it is cute). Usually I don't want to get into the details of what I'm doing, so I stay as general as possible. If someone shows further interest I'm willing to add some specificity.

That said, I do occasionally use the other terms on these forums. When in Rome.... And I have no problem with other people using whatever term they like best.

I can see some concern over calling it juice, but it just kind of stuck for me. I just call it "medicine" round the kiddos and had a good talk with them about never ever ever touching it because it can make them sick. It is up and out of reach, but just in case. e-liquid sounds like a stupid marketing ploy and nicquid sounds like a squid baby (cute but unvapable)
