It still says that I'm not able to post there =/ Is there some sort of delay?

The server resets once an hour so you should be able to post in the Canada forum by now. I'm pretty sure that the only import issues are with nicotine juice but you would be better off asking there.

OK I have no idea how to even ask my questions. My wife and I have tried 2 different off the shelf e ciggs. The Clearette (which neither of us liked) And the Logic power and platinum which was far better but still not up to what we hoped for. My cigg of choice was Newport and hers was Maverick. I would like to know the easiest and least expensive way to replace these. I read a couple of posts but even the terms used are "above my pay grade" it seems! We are TRUE newbies!
We will not give up on vaping as smoking is to dangerous at this time in our lives (we are both just over 50) and far to expensive given our financial situation. (Almost $40/day in Long Island! that's close to $1200/ month!!!) forgive me but at this rate crak or heron might be cheaper ! One more thing, we don't mind at this point something that's a little different than ciggs in color and appearance but would rather something that's at least cylindrical and cigarette-like.
Any guidance would be appreciated PLEASE HELP. Thanks in advance.

It's not round (an advantage as it won't roll off desks, countertops or tables) but the new Innokin iTaste 3.0 is small and very easy for a beginner to use. It has variable watts which means you just push the "+" or "-" button to adjust the vape to the warmth you prefer. If it's too low you won't get vapor. If it's too high the juice will taste burnt. Anything in between is a matter of personal preference.

This is a picture of my iTaste next to a highlighter marker to give you an idea of size. The close-up is of the chameleon color.

If you don’t mind waiting for shipping from Hong Kong Fast Tech has the iTaste 3.0 kit with 4 iClear 16s for great price but they only have black.

This review will give you an idea of how the iTaste works.

RussT - I just turned 53 and your post caught my eye. As a relatively new vapor (2+ months), I totally understand your situation - the choices can seem totally overwhelming and everyone has different advice.

I tried to PM you but evidently I can't until you post a few more times.

First of all, I would not recommend the e-cigs (cigalikes) you see in convenience stores, etc. They're expensive, the cartridges are not 'equivalent to a pack of cigarettes', the batteries don't last very long (a few hours), and I've yet to find one that tastes halfway decent. Having said that, I have bought them in emergency situations and some people are happy with them.

(If you do go ahead and buy some to get started, make sure you get ones with 510 threading (which most of them have). That's when the battery is 'male' and screws into the 'female' cartridge. The ones I bought initially were opposite ('male' cartridge and 'female' battery). The both work equally well but the 510 is compatible with ego batteries (more on that in a minute).)

A step up from cigalikes is ego batteries. They are probably your best bet initially. Slightly thicker than a cigarette, they come in varying lengths dependent on the mAh. mAh is merely the amount of power they store. 'Mini' egos are 350 mAh and they range up to 1300 mAh. The most common size you'll find in stores is probably 650 mAh. A 650 easily lasts me a day but doesn't for most people.

(By the way, 'ego' is simply another threading. Ego batteries have the external ego threading and an internal 510 threading. In other words, you can screw your 510 cartridges into an ego battery. This could come in handy in the future but that's a different topic.)

All the battery does is provide power. You'll also need a clearomizer/cartomizer to screw onto the battery. This is what actually holds the flavored nicotine juice and uses the power from the battery to heat a metal coil which vaporizes the liquid to make the vapor. Both have their advantages/disadvantages and people are passionate about their favorite types. But - at least in the beginning - there's no need to go overboard here. Get a couple generic ones and use them until you have a little more experience and start to know what you like.

Personally, I'd find a vaping store in your neighborhood and go there. Buy some basic starter kits and a selection of juices. (Hopefully you can try different juices in the store to find something you like.)

In the future, you might very well 'move up' to mods or something a bit more advanced than your basic ego setup. (Or you might not, I'm perfectly satisfied with mine.) But everything is compatible so nothing need go to waste.

Good luck.

Thanks Barbara and peraspera for you responses. I have been educating myself and thanks to you both have decided to buy some juice from a few sources. Now understanding the how all the parts work together I will also get cartomizers that will allow more time between fills. The batteries we are using are the ones that came with the "Logic" brand but I am pretty sure the threads are situated correctly but they don't seem to last long after recharging, so I will be in the market for better ones.
Thanks again,
Russ

Russ T - The majority of PVs/batteries other than some cig-alikes have 510 connections for juice delivery devices such as cartomizers, atomizers and clearomizers. If you want to use the Logic cartomizers you currently have with a PV/battery with 510 threading you can use one of these adapters.
Adaptor, 510 Battery to RN4081 Atomizer

I would very much encourage you to purchase better gear soon as the quality of the vape will be significantly better than the Logic you are currently using. The Logic batteries aren't regulated which means that the heat/quality of the vape decreases as the batteries deplete. This happens pretty darned quickly. The iTaste to which I linked does not do this. It also has pass-through capabilities which means you can use the battery to vape while charging it.

You can use 510 cartomizers with the iTaste or the the i16 clearomizer tanks that come with the kit. Use the cartomizers for juices that crack the plastic on clearomizers or if you don't want to have to top off cartomizers frequently you can use a pyrex Kanger Protank.
