I really do not know what else to do. I am fed up with constantly having to mess with stuff, spending uber amounts of money on things that never work as promised and just the general hassle that has been my vaping experience over the last two years.

Really what it boils down to is I never get a satisfactory vape. On the of chance that I do it comes with entirely too much hassle. I find that I am happy with rda's because I get enough vapor, flavor and nic to satisfy my needs but along with it comes the mess. They are constantly leaking if not kept upright and not to mention having to drip which is not easy or to be frank, safe when you spend over 4 hours a day commuting.

I LOVE carto tanks when they work properly for the juice capacity but I cant deal with having such a tight draw.

The Kayfun and kayfun style devices also fall under the carto tank category with the added displeasure of maybe one build out of 5 actually works the way it should (please do not tell me I am building it wrong. I have tried every build and suggestion on this website on four different KF style devices over the last year.) And covering the air hole and sucking is NOT a solution. If it does happen to work, again the draw is too tight.

I am tired of the mess.
I am tired of the loads of equipment and supplies.
I am tired of dry hits.(if i wanted to burn something i would have never started this adventure.)
I am tired of spending more and more money in hopes that I may, just may have found something that will work for me.
I really am just tired of this.

There used to be a time where I could just walk into a store, buy my coffee and a pack of smokes and go on with my life.

Now, I have to make sure batteries are charged, make sure coils and device work, make sure I have enough juice for the day, make sure I have enough supplies If something needs to be fixed.

I really am not trying to rant. I'm am posting this here as I feel this community is probably the only people that understand what I am ....*ing about. Really, I just hope someone here has gone through the same issue and has found their happy vape place.. I really wish and want to find mine.

You should come check out the Reo supplier sub forum. I've been vaping for over 4 years and will NEVER have to buy a new device or feel that itch again.

The Reo is a fully mechanical bottom feeding device that you can use cartos or RBA's with. It'll never break, it is maintenance free and you won't ever need to fiddle with it.

Reo's are something I've always wanted to try just never have.

your kayfun issues are most likely a wick issue. there is definitely a learning curve to RBA/RDAs. you need that one friend that "gets" it to show you the light and you'll be good forever

Problem is if it works the draw is still too tight. I really cant stand having to "work" to take a vape.

Have you tried Increasing the Draw of you Cartos by using a Straightened Paper Clip/Rolling Pin technique?

Or Opened up the Side Holes con the Carto above the Threads with a 1/16" Drill?

Seems like Increasing the Draw of a Carto shouldn't be a Insurmountable Challenge.

I've tried the paperclip but not opening up the side holes. I will give that a shot.

Wow . . . Sorry to read about your vaping journey, thus far, t2ak.

It took me a bit of time to fine my vaping "Happy Zone," so to speak. Every delivery system has its ups and downs. I went through all types of clearomizers, carto tanks, Divers, Genesis type devices, etc.

What worked for me was sticking with my KayFun Lites and Ithaka devices until I had perfected what I wanted from them. I have 2 of each on rotation and am quite pleased with their performance. I just kept at it. With regard to these type of tank delivery systems, I am no longer searching for the next best device. My vaping routine is set with the said devices.

I love my dripping atties without question. After a long day, I look forward to using my RDAs. It's quite relaxing for me. I will take my Veritas RDA out with me sometimes.

Bottom line . . . Please, keep at it. I know that it can be a royal pain, but you will eventually fine your perfect vaping set-up and routine.

The best to you.

Have you tried the Fogger 4.4? I did a lot of reading and watching video reviews before I bought mine. It's the ONLY RTA I have found (so far) that I can "lung hit" with. I'm a "happy camper"! Check out this thread: Tanks. I'm still evaluating at these RTA's.

A LP (low profile) REO might also work for you. I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) you can have your current RDA's modified to use with them.

I can certainly understand the frustration; until I got my tobeco kayfun clones, I was very frustrated with all the hassles of the small kanger tanks, but kayfuns fixed it completely for me.

Also, I had to keep in mind: smoking is very easy, and so is dying from it. If I want to avoid dying from something I enjoy and certainly am addicted to, then it may take a little more effort. I'd far rather spend the effort tinkering, than craving 24/7 (like with all the other NRT stuff), or just staying a smoker and paying obscene amounts of money for something that's going to kill me.

Since you do know how to build coils, you might want to check out the Smoktech RSBT; it's a LOT!!! airier than a Kayfun; with a kayfun I keep the airflow closed off about 50%, because I like a fairly tight draw, but with the RSBT, to get the tightness I like, I have to keep it 80% closed. And the RSBT's vape is similar to that from a dripper, very intense.

If you do decide that vaping is just too much trouble, maybe look into the "snus" stuff; it's not for me, but a lot of folks apparently find it a reasonable substitute in order to prevent going back to smoking.

Good luck!

I would do One Hole at a Time and see how it works. I like to do Both Holes. But I like a Very Free and Airy Draw.

Also, All you need to do is Break thru the Existing Hole in the Carto. With a New Drill, it will take about 1 Second to do it.

I just put the Drill tip on the Existing Hole. Square Up the Drill at a Right Angle to the Carto, and give it One Good Pulse of the Drill Power Button.

You might also do some Test Drilling on some Old Cartos if you have any Laying around.

Like RDAs but don't like the dripping or leaking?

+1 on the Reo Grand.

It's a bullet proof mechanical with 6ml of onboard, on-demand juice. Squeeze the bottle and it saturates the coil in the RDA perfectly, then the excess juice gets sucked back into the bottle. No dry hits, no leaking, hassle free, pocket friendly.

I've been using them for over 10 months now. I'm hard pressed to think of a mod less "trendy" and more dependable.

I'm not as experienced as you (and others) are. But after reading a post here and watching a YT video, I drilled out ONLY ONE of the 3 air holes on both my Evod and Protank mini. I used a 1/16" bit. What a difference!!! Changing the draw is one of the main reasons I bought a Nautilus Mini. YMMV.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations.

While you will get many great recommendations about devices, builds, etc I'll ask a more fundamental question.

Do you feel better both physically and mentally NOT being a smoker?
Do you feel as if your quitting smoking was an "accomplishment"?
If the answer is yes then:
Is it more worth it to you to continue to search for "the perfect vape" than it would be to do what is undeniably easier: light a cigarette.

I'm satisfied vaping anything as opposed to the alternative.
I sometimes think that I'm in a minority in this, as vaping to some people seems to turn into a search for El Dorado or Shangri-La.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with this as long as this doesn't lead to frustration.
The possibility of something better doesn't detract from my enjoyment of what I've got now.

I still actively use every device I've ever bought and still will occasionally buy the gas-station ecig.

I do this understanding that the vape I get from my GreenSmoke is not like that I get from my EVOD which isn't like my MVP or my 20W Sigelei.
I do this understanding that it comes at the cost of higher "maintenance" be it batts or liquids or coils.

This is a "cost" that is a value TO ME because
To me they are ALL better than a cigarette in every single way.

Good luck in figuring out your way.

I really do not want to give it up. I do feel better both physically and mentally. I guess you are right about the El Dorado point. I might be looking for the holy grail. I will keep it up. I do feel better after venting. Thanks for the reply, you put a nice perspective spin on it.

I have quite a few around just need to find my punch as they are single hole and do not wick well.

I havent. I do have a friend that owns one. Maybe he will let me test drive it.
