So, those of you reading new members know that I came in, guns a-blazing to switch to e-cigs. I got a lot of advice and even offered a little of my own.
Today I experienced a setback and have smoked about a half pack of analogs. It started when I got up this morning (the one time more than any other that I crave an analog). There were some here cause my partner still smokes 'em (he's switching as soon as the second 510 kit arrives tomorrow or Tuesday). I awoke not feeling great, needing coffee, etc. I reached for an analog because it just seemed easier than taking the batt off the charger, dripping the atty, etc. I know that's rationalization but it worked for me at the time...
So I'd be happy to hear your "setback on the road to success" stories, cause I still wanna do this.
I even went up to a local 5 & Below store (everything $5 and under) and got a USB converter for the lighter so I can use the PT in the car if necessary, when it arrives with the 510 order. I also have juice orders coming in so it's not as though I'm giving up.
Been vaping, on and off, for 2-3 weeks.
Thanks for all of your help, as always!

I'm a brand new member here but figured this would be a good first post haha. I have been smoking ecigs for the past 2 weeks. 2 days ago i flooded both of my rn4081 batts so basically i have been getting almost no vapor even after drying them out and every thing. Clearly you can see the predicament i was in and naturally smoked a few analogs yesterday and so far non today. I'm gonna call around some places here and see who is currently carrying some 510 kits so i can get back on the road again with some esmoking today instead of waiting for shipping. Good luck it was an honest mistake!

Why on and off? I hear so many people saying that they had to vape like a maniac for a while to really kick the analog habit. Why not do that? I'm no expert and am newer than you, so I know it's not my place to give you advice-to be clear: I'm not trying to give you advice, I'm just trying to learn. BTW: don't beat yourself up, just don't give up either.:)

Why on and off?
Lack of supplies. When I ordered my 510 kit, I failed to order extra liquid. I ordered pre-filled carts, having no idea how long they'd last. I didn't stop intentionally...ran out of supplies.
I had not read enough and my initial vendor did not recommend ordering liquid.

Here is some tips i use. Im also a jote 510 user. For the first week or 2 i vaped heavy to keep the anolog demon at bay. Before i go to bed at night i set up a ecig so when i roll out of bed it is sitting right next to my coffee pot ready to be vaped. I just had to make up my mind that this was what i really wanted to do. Dont beat yourself up over it, but ask your self what you really want.

Dean, It's not a setback at all. Just another step in your fight to quit tobacco. A lot of people here have had it happen at some point or another. It took me a couple of months to totally get off cigs. After I thought I was completely done with them my husband had an accident and in the process of driving him to the hospital I grabbed a cigarette out of habit and had it half smoked before I realized what I was doing. And this happened after I had been off cigs for almost 6 months.

Once your partner gets his ecig and there are no more cigs in the house it will be a lot easier for you, well both of you actually. Like I said, it's not a set back, just another step.

Hi Dean - I hear you. The same thing happened to me when I first got into e-cigs a year ago. I was all gung ho and then everything just seemed like this huge hassle: recharging, refilling, etc. etc. so I dropped the whole e-cig thing.

Then came Feb. my family planned a vacation they didn't think I would want to attend and booked a non-smoking resort 8-o so I decided to reinvestigate getting back into e-cigs with intention of just using it to get through my trip.

I came back here to ECF and discovered cartomizers - Long Lasting, A Separate Atty for each flavor, easy to swap flavors and I was sold.

Bought some batteries and cartomizers from Vapor4Life and I'm thrilled it's been a TOTALLY different experience.

I honestly do not think I would have been able to quit had I gone in a different direction. I'm lazy like that.

If you're not in a spot to buy new batteries and such - just this week cartomizers were introduced for the 510 - as I understand they don't hold anywhere near as much juice as the 808 cartomizers do but surely if you know the AM is your weakest time you can fill one up before you go to bed and have it waiting for you in the morning?

Just do a search for 510 cartomizers and all of the vendors carrying them should pop up.

Hang in there!

The gut feeling here is that you just haven't found the right flavor e-liquid yet that has knocked your socks off. When you do, you wont want an analog.

I know you well enough to say that you don't give up easy. Hang in there, bud.

And, try to talk your partner into buying analogs that you both HATE. The wife here smokes Merit Ultra Lights -- one has to be a masochist to smoke those Gawd awful things. =)

I've been vaping for about two weeks. I've had 3 minor setbacks. Each time it was just one analog cig and each time I couldn't even finish it, just wanted to go back to my e-cig. I found that I really need to suck this thing down non stop to kick the desire for a real cigarette. I've been using it a LOT. If I take a break from it for too long, I find that I start wanting a cigarette, which is bad. I don't know how much you've been using yours, but it may help if you get in the habit of using it throughout the day instead of just when you have a craving. Of course, it's going to be different for everybody, but I find that with heavy use, I've become partial to the e-cig flavor and experience and am starting to find myself craving the vapor instead of the smoke, which is a good step IMO.

I can top that...he smokes Parliaments....eeesh! But I was smoking Pall Mall Orange, so who(m) am I to judge?
Thanks, Richie- yes, I'd say you know me well enough by now, as I plagued you many times a day for the first 2 weeks...
I have four new flavors coming in within the next week.

Don't worry too much, it seems to happen to a lot of people. I have been lucky a couple of my friends had to problems either, but I have a couple of friends who have a few cigs a day and still consider it to be a huge success and are hoping to quit them somethime soon.

Just keep at it, you know one step at a time. Good luck.

You had a cigarette after two weeks  Well, guess you should ban yourself from this forum :nun:

Just kidding of course :p

I agree with those that feel you might not of hit on the right juice for you...but even more with the folks that think your one impatient person. Cut yourself some slack my friend...you are doing very well :thumb:

Took me a couple months...and I had to put some willpower into it ;)

My first experience wirh an e-cig suppler was the worst. I ordered a starter kit from a very well liked supplier here,( except by me). I paid over $80 just for the kit. Within the first week and a half everything was dead except one atty. What you goona do with that??? I emailed this person and he sent me 1 e-cig which lasted a couple of days. Also the batteries and attys were not interchangable. 1 Battery was so screwed up I could not charge it. I emailed him again 3 times with no reply. The charger even died within 3 weeks of purchase. All the wires were sticking out. Emailed him again no response. In the beginning I in no way accused him of any wrong doing, suggested maybe the product was defective, and he should check it out. Never heard back from him. Yet I see him on this forum all the time saying don't worry I'll get a replacement out to you right away. I always stand behind my products. He even said it to me.I didn't get anything though. (FOR PEOPLE I LIKE) I had a feeling he was playing favorates, because in 2 to 3 days the person would be thanking him for the quick reply, plus a little something extra. I explained to him my circumstances, that I was disabled, no response! (NOT GONNA MAKE MONEY OFF HER) Thats just how I felt. I was really ticked, still am. So here we go back to cigs.
Nope I was not going to let a two faced supplier lead me back to smoking.
I white knucked it until I got a speedy order from Cignot. They are the nicest two ladies I have ever spoken to. Not like whats his name. When people ooh and aaw over him I want to barf. He is always complimenting other suppliers too. IF he knew how much I ended up spending for supplies he might have liked me too. I cannot stand two faced people. I have also seen him on other forums too. One group told him off in spades and not to come back. Whichever forum he is on is his beloved and the other is crap incuding ECF. Why do other forums hate us so much???????? I have never read anything about other forums here. They are crude too. Very nasty!
All I want is what I payed for or a refund. The kit was DEFECTIVE!!!!!!

BE CAREFUL OF DRAGONS:evil:THAT BLOW SMOKE UP YOUR ..... VERY TRUE

Putting in my 20 cents, use to be 2 cents, but with inflation and all, anywhooo, I have an old pkg of Capri light Menthol, in my pocketbook, just in case, every once and a while I open the dang pkg up, take a sniff, and put it back, yuk, stale, dried up leaves.........but it helps. the pkg is just short of 3 butts when I went on the Vape. been in there since the first part of January 010. If I leave them there long enough......maggots might form, huh! Well that's my story. Dean, you'll do what you have to do, and it will be right.
