wow !! you really got me tempted to put in the extra effort. This Aspire Ni200 head gives out nothing at this temperature and wattage with the Cuboid. I could be doing something wrong though but the difference seems to be dramatic and I can hardly find anybody using it in the forum or even Aspire forums. Problem is vendors are not experienced around here and most vapers in my area go for factory coils which still misuse

Then my work here is done :D

Seriously though, I was a complete noob at all this about ten days ago and now I'm thoroughly enjoying huge tasty clouds of vapor on my own coils from my own juice (also a first for me). It is really satisfying, and if I can do it anyone can, right?

If you want to read more about how I got start and what I did wrong initially: click me

Good luck on your journey, and if you have more questions I'd be happy to help wherever I can!

Hi G_V
Reading about your frustration with TC.
Your methodology is on spec. You have a lousy head. The tank is built nice. but the heads are built to sell at a modest price (read cheap).
Roll with the punches, occasionally a bad one comes your way..

Thank you for your kind advice

Need I say that the Aspire Ni200 heads dont come cheap ? Around $5 each. And I have spend so much time experimenting with them. What do you recommend ?

As stated above ss316 is state of the art. Can also be used in power mode if TC continues to vex you.
As for the heads, cheaply made,,yet dear to come by.
First choice RTA , must roll coils, you deferred.
I would look into a different sub tank, maybe a Cubis since many coils will fit it.
Try a different vender for replacement coils to the tank you do own.
I wish i could be more helpful, but i haven't used 'clearos' in about 3 years.
I'm actually hoping you'll have success with TC, it's a wonderful alternative to power vaping..

I wouldn't call SS316 state of the art, it has the second lowest TCR of stainless wire. Only SS317 is worse.

Worse to best in accuracy.

SS317
SS316
SS304
SS430
SS410

Mind you this is for temperature accuracy not vape quality, aren't you using TC for accurate temperature.

I would be using SS410 if I could find it, SS430 does fine but I would rather have the most accurate.

No not accuracy,, taste and versatility of power/TC. My mods only support 316. I inadvertently purchased 304 won't work at all in TC just power/ sigh..

I've read that Aspire coils tend to have more issues. I have the Melo 2 tank, which uses similar coils (compatible), and my TC is fantastic, I wouldn't want to go back to simple wattage. My mod is presently set at 40W, my coil is a 0.2 OHM (that I've rebuilt using Vaperasso ceramic) Ni200, and right now, at 570F. (Temp settings will vary from liquid to liquid).

I've never had a single dry hit since I've been rebuilding, but then, the pre-builts have been also great.

Your trouble isn't TC, it's your coil, or the liquid that you use. Your tank should work fine with the Vaperasso ceramic, so I'd say give those a try first... note that some liquids can gunk them up fairly fast though, but even then. For those, prime inside, then the side holes, their design is absolutely great and it go into rebuilding coils, they are fantastic.

And also, depending how you prime, some people report having issues with priming by simply dropping a few drops inside... you have to do a good 3-4 pulls also (suck on it, airflow closed, no power). You need to get the liquid to saturate the wink properly otherwise you get an "air bubble type problem where the liquid just doesn't pull in.

I do think so the head is useless although it's factory made and meant for Triton V2

Than you for your reply !

My bad you said v2. I can't help you out with that one.sorry

San Antonio,Texas

I do think too Aspire has issues with their Ni heads. Seeing all the valuable replies here I can say Aspire is using us as beta testers...hope they read our complaints and I will definitely go for your advice in the long run although Im still happy with simple VW coils. Just thought that I could get something extra out of Aspire's Ni heads and VT out of the Cuboid 150.

Why do I think that the simpler we keep them the better ?
