Do you shake your juices? I started a thread a few weeks back asking members about how they get around shaking the juice if they have it in a tank or bottom feeder, but the thread was........
:tumble:.

So, now I just want to know if you shake your juice? Do, you barely shake, or do you shake vigorously? Do you use a tank, or bottom-feeder, and if so, what do you do? Does it matter to you? Have you noticed a difference one way or another? I know with some juices it is a must! I shake the hellz out of my bottles!

Don over at Backwoods Brew said this to me today in a Q and A:
You can tag me if you want, Its a general rule of thumb just like when I drink a bottle of Snapple. there is a little separation and some lingering on the bottom. I basically shake everything that can be just because LOL
Hey, if we call it "juice", then shake that baby up! Maybe that is why some people feel their juice tastes different sometimes.

oh you totally gotta shake! it would be crazy not to.

one good thing to remember is that shaking is a huge part of how juices are mixed. its only natural to keep those flavors and other chemicals mixed as thoroughly as possible. separation occurs, even if only on a small scale.

i shake it until i get the little bubbles suspended in the liquid. and then i shake it some more :)

Thanks so much for saying that, Ratchet! I always thought it was pretty common knowledge that some juices needed to be shaken a little, if not a lot, and I always wondered what tank users do. The thread I statred is in the Gen-E Smoking section and that was like two weeks ago. I just love shaking juices, and the funny thing is, I never use to and it seems I get more consistency from the flavor now...maybe that is due to my homeboys Optimo and Jplanet helping me out on another tip...

Does anyone know if it is the flavorings that settle, the nic, or both.

I'm a juice shaker too...funny what Don at BWB said, because that's exactly how I look at it before I use any of my juices....just as if it were a Snapple...I give it a few really good shakes & enjoy! I don't know if its the nic or the flavorings that settle, or what....but I would image it helps the flavors mix better (especially if its a blend of some sort)

See, as much as I want to believe that it doesn't matter whether you shake or not, I feel that the whole notion of "steeping" implies a certain level of heterogeneity (unevenness) of the flavors until it becomes more homogeneous. It is not a blatant settling of parts like a vinaigrette or something, but on a very, very minor level. But, that is just my theory...where are all those wonderfull professors that advise around this forum?

.... I think shaking your juice is kind of like the whole ritual of packing/smashing your pack of cigarettes against your wrist/coffee tables/boss, ect

Awesome, comparison! Uhhh... I think we have a winner here. Frosty nailed it! That is exactly the feeling I get from shaking my liquid. But, packing your cigs does effect the cigarettes, so maybe we have a point for something really happening to the juice after the shake?
