Shaker boxes, built one? lets see em....this is mine

Well im am still new to vaping (couple months), and don't like waiting for steeping, well I read that using a shaker box will help speed up steeping, also very helpful for us that like to mix flavors and add sweeteners, nic, etc.... after a couple renditions this is what I came up with....

Maaterials:
Old cigar box
PT band (BIG rubber band)
shaker motor from a video game ccontroller
6volt power supply
and some superglue

pretty straight forward how I built it, played with diff tightness's, and still refining, want to add another motor shaking the other way, in time im sure plenty will change.

Works great on plastic bottles up to 15ml, don't have larger bottles to try, and pretty good on glass 15ml dropper bottles, but I think a lot better once I add the second motor, I initially had it on a 9v PS but think I get a better shake from the 6v, still playing with that, may have to go back to 9v once I add the 2nd motor.

Now lets see yours, if you have any questions feel free to ask. vape ON!!!

why did you even respond to this post????? this obviously doesnt interest you, but you figured hell I love too write pointless ...., goodjob, you don't care. this post wasn't for you, its for the people that are interested in shakers, or maybe just need some ideas to build their own, thanks for your pointless commentary.....

@whisper don't think id want to throw glass in there, and I don't think that's really doing the job anyway, the point is to agitate the liquid so it melds together better\faster, I don't consider mine shaken unless I can see lots of fine bubbles all through the juice.

My big hope is that this will help me blend whatever into the juice, haven't tried it yet, still looking for more info, if you would like to share id love to read about it.

and thanks to those that actually have something to input, and aren't just writing for the .... of it, Please. im trying to expand my knowledge, not be ridiculed or putdown, or whatever your intension for writing nonsense. thank you.

while the idea of a shaker is new too me, I do see this being something I would look into. Wont be building myself one for most it will seem like people are just finding new ways to do the same thing we have been doing for a while, but thats how things improve. Some will use ultrasonic cleaners, shake by hand or tape it to the dogs leg and play fetch for 20 minutes. I have tried the sonic cleaner and it wasn't much different then shaking by hand where i can also get those tiny bubbles. I dont like using hot water in the cleaner because I know heat can degrade the nic and I rather get as much of it as I can.

If you can't figure it out; let me help you the forum is about sharing our experience with others. If you have nothing productive to add - be quite or go watch TV. If your going to try and make some kind of joke why not add a icon like this so we can laugh with you and not at you.;)

Don't let it get to you Drivinghard it's only a forum.

Nice idea and a very good thought - give me more - I like it.

I dunno, I like it myself...but then again, I've built many a project that solves a simple problem with a complex solution. Now you just need to hook a timer up to it so you can set it for 3x a day. :)

Edit: I thought about building a similar thing, but think I'll rather get into an ultrasonic cleaner instead at some point. I've read you can perform a week's steep in about an hour...that's worth it to me and seems a much better investment, myself.

I understand your frustration over the initial posts, especially after taking the time to explain how you did it, with pictures to share... I don't think anyone intended to belittle your unique shaking contraption.. They are just most likely not as into DIY projects like you are. I think its a pretty cool thing you have made, great way to reuse old parts. Love the idea of being able to find another purpose for an old controller vibrator. I haven't evolved my shaking process beyond anything other than my hand, but with 70 bucks worth of DIY liquids coming my way, it has been on my mind more often. I don't think I have the electrical/mechanical aptitude to create something like this... Great job and keep posting your projects, I look forward to seeing anything else you might think of creating! :D

zach904 the trick to diy is finding a recipe that you can vape with just a minute or two of shaking after mixing, the rest will then get time to sit a mellow out. I typically mix once a week when Im on my last bottle. I make a double chocolate hazelnut that is pretty good right away, so I do for monday and tuesday if mixed on sunday. The others start to hit nicely around day 3 so the last 5 bottles are ready by the time the first 2 bottles are done. 10ml's a day is pretty much what I vape, so that method works for me.

@wilecoyote havenpt had issues with more getting hot, did originally ave an issue with PS warming up, just got a bigger more MAH PS, and no issues since.

@Revco, I looked into ultra sonic, and it interests me, but I can see putting up tht kind of money for a quality unit, I have thought about expanding my shaker with an ultrasonic transducer, but that's taking the jump in funds drastically, it does interest me though, and would love to find a low cost way making that work.

I saw a vid on You tube where the guy used a milk frother- handheld mixer- teeny tiny-. He put his newly made e-liquid in a cocktail glass, frothed it up, and let it rest until it was clear again. He did this 3 times. He said it speeded up steeping to the point that a liquid that normally would need 3 weeks is ready in 3 days.
I want to DIY, but I'm still too new to venture down that road yet. I'm not talented enough to build a box, not knowledgeable enough to understand the ins and outs of the electrical components; but I figured I could run a handheld blender.

you got the right idea going on for shaking... Im assuming that the larger rubber sheet is where you put the juice bottles. To make the shaker more efficient, consider attaching something from the motor case to the sheet the juice is in contact with. Not seeing it action, Im at a slight disadvantage to give better build techniques...

maybe think about a piece of PVC pipe with the motor mounted in the bottom with a spacer ( to keep the bottle from hitting the counter weight) and support the pipe with rubber sheeting... place the juice bottle in the upper end of the pipe. that should shake the juice really good...
