I find that to be an acceptable compromise. If you'll all just sign below, it can be official.

TFM, while occasionally misconstrued as an acronym for "Tis For Me," in all actuality is an acronym for the forum name of one of the world's most scholarly gentlemen: TarFreeMe.

I hereby swear this to be true and correct to the best of my knowledge under penalty of perjury and the laws applicable herein.

I PIF'ed a BF VV altoid tin mod and 2 AW IMR 2000 mah 18650s to a friend of a friend who was in need. It makes me feel good to help out. They are a low income family with 2 kids, and smoke a pack a day each, now they vape 4ml a day and my buddy gives them free DIY juice. I am just glad they can put more money toward bettering themselves rather than worsening their health. :)

Maybe I need to make some more mods and stop by the PIF. They only cost me about 15 bucks to make.

Nice that you helped out your friends! As for PIF if you want you can. In the Treasure Chest area you can stipulate who qualifies for the "gift" - like a newbie with less than 100 posts or less than 3 months in, etc. Cuz, pssssst, there's vultures out there:ohmy: and they circle the PIF threads faithfully. We even had to limit the "swaps" thread to a value no higher than $50 - people who aren't verified were skirting the classifieds..had a few innocents get burned. We used to have an Emergency Needs thread too, but there were too many people taking advantage of how generous the PIFers are - the MODS were constantly running through previous posts of those claiming to be in need to find out if it was the truth....we became the police - it was brutal (all behind the scenes); even though there were many people truly in need that were helped out. And we do occasionally get pm's from those truly in need and yes, we still find a way to help them, it's just not in public any longer.

The actual PIF threads are pretty awesome too - you take the posted offer and offer your own and someone else claims that, and repeat. Nice way to off some juice you just don't care for and try something you want to try.

Of course, you can always have your own contest too - just have to have it approved by the PIF Mods - I am 1 of 6, we run a tight ship over there to protect the generosity of our members.

No money ever changes hands in PIF. Whoever places an offer (any kind) is picking up the postage. It used to be a little warmer, fuzzier than it is now. But we had to really tighten down because the members were being taken advantage of, some of which could not afford to be so generous. But we still enjoy our little corner of ECF.:)

It's sad that it's come to that. I thought we ECF'ers were better than that. That's VF crap.
I would like to donate a few things to people in need, but I wouldn't just want it to go to someone new... I would want it to go to someone with low income. Someone who simply can't afford to buy a mod, but could really use one. I think I will just keep an eye out for some broke folks on my own . people tend to be less needy when distanced from a source of charity.

No problem Bama We have had people stipulate that the taker have no mods - just usually battery gear..that takes some legwork but it's worth it should you change your mind.

We've had plenty of VF'ers banned from PIF  Talk about unruly, nasty people, who only play by their rules...being no holds barred.

LOL, thank ya. Ugh, one more hour of work, then its a four day weekend. I can't wait, it's gonna be sweet! Tomorrow my VV Grand should be at my doorstep, then Saturday we are taking a drive down to Dothan to see some friends, and I get to spend 1000 bucks on tools. [insert Tim Allen tool time UGH UGH UGH UGH here]
Harbor Freight is having a 20% off sale, so I really get to buy like 1200 bucks worth of tools!

That is probably a safe bet, sir! Im kidding, of course!

Kinda a blanket inquirey Holmes. A thinly disguised query to see if the likes of you, keg and tar could ever hope to attend the ball:D

Don't really know how it all works, and it sounds like lots of a-holes take advantage, BUT...I know that there genuinely lots of folks trying to kick the habit/short of funds/in need....and I've got stuff I could contribute....sure you guys have stuff....we have Beebop here here....sooooo

Bebop...what if us dumbass NE. Guys were to get our pif type stuff directly to you for you and the other pif mods to dole out where you determine a real need to be. Don't want to put any extra weight on your shoulders...just thinking....kinda...

Well you could hawk......we don't have a lot of need going on these days...as newer members don't know about the older days of Emergency Needs...but when true need arises someone who does remember will either contact a PIF mod or have the person in need contact a PIF mod by pm.

It's up to you...whatever you want to do is fine.:)

How bout this?
Should the need ever arise where you become aware of someone in need....how about you just feel free to come here and ask if we can help.
Heck...your almost family now. The fact you keep coming back speaks volumes(positive...negative...you decide:D) about you.

Good group of peeps here and I'm sure if there's a true need and any of us have stash laying around collecting dust we would be willing to help.

I've got various vender juice..quite a bit actually(and this is the last time I'm offering to the locals...grab it if you need it) that I could contribute.
I could even mix a bottle or 2 of my diy if needed.

Just a thought...please let us know if we can ever help out.
